The loud round mound attempts to light a fire.
Commits sentence arson instead.

Romnney hand delivers his return to the POST Office So what.

Well, while I agree the photo was staged, some folks here asked who the hell does that anymore? What makes you think it "staged"?

Well enough people do that my husband (who works at the processing plant), came home after two hours of overtime. San Diego Butcher.

And I admit, I stood in line weeks ago to send in the check we owed California, certified and with return receipt. That is a practice that has saved us a few times from audits, when either the IRS or the Franchise board claim they never got the check. Well, you did, card is signed and everything and postmarked too.

So to say who does it this? Just because you obviously do not, does not mean there are no people out there doing it. We also had the perennial story on the local FOX (sorry I can barely make it to ten, unless in the field) of people taking their returns and handing them to the clerks. After the perennial story, I just called it a night.   :banghead: :banghead:

One reply. I doubt there will be very many others.

1. I do, too. I've done my taxes on Turbotax since forever but I always print 'em out and mail 'em.
I hope you included a gift check to Uncle Sugar.

She stays up 'til 10 watching FOX cover people taking their returns to the post office?

Wow...gNads really must take her job seriously.   :whatever:

What in the Hell is she talking about, I know of NO ONE that does their own taxes in todays world.

Some of us poor folk making under $40,000 a year head to H&R Block pay them $50.00 or so and they do the tax return for you with a guarantee that if you are audited they will send in the lawyers for free to defend you.   I was going there when the total income was less then $30,000 a year.

I never ever wanted to file tax returns, the do it your self cost people who did not know about the deductions they were by law allowed to take.

Today tax returns are instant into a bank account for a fee for those getting a return.   For those owing taxes I have no idea, just poor fork that gets a retune every year.

Millions of people do their own taxes.

I took the H&R tax course.  I was impressed with the class.  It was a lot better than my income tax accounting class I had in college.

I actually liked preparing tax forms.....weird, I know

Yes my Mom all ways did her taxes and lost a fortune as she did not know the law or what she could deduct on.

Finally got her to go to the Local library where they had free tax consultents for the elderly.   She was amazed at all the deductions she could have taken over the past 30 years,

It is important for the elderly to know the law and what they entitled to receive from the government.

Got to figure one pays taxes for 80+ years one should get some pay back.

I'm still able to use the 1040EZ and lots of people do.  It would be stupid to pay someone to do that for me.

$290 for my accountant to prepare my taxes and then has the nerve to add $10  :censored: if filed electronically.

I have him print out two everything State and Federal and I mail it on April 14.

Your CPA charges you an additional $10 to file electronically?  What an ass!

If there's a check to send, of course people use the post.  But what do DUmmies know about that?  Place where I work always uses the return receipt service, so Nadin got that one right at least.  You need every defense against this particular agency.

41. The locals fought it as well

the same reason... how can you? And it came becuse this department was BAD fifteen to twenty years ago... it was quite honestly LAPD light.

Here are some of the things the Civilian Review Comision does

1.- If you have ANY relationship with the police departmetn, need not apply. Yep that means me. My husband was a cop in this county. .....

Questions: Is Hubby trying to match gNads for total number of careers?  Is/was Hubby really on a police force somewhere?  If Hubby was on a police force somewhere, did he give it up for his new careers as assistant photog to the Cousin and/or the post office?

I don't think he even exists.  This is - we already know this - a seriously deluded, single-celled organism that has been leaking DNA for awhile.

I do, among millions of others.  You need to spend some time with other people, instead of just listening to those mysterious disembodied voices.  Ideally people who are not exactly like you.

Now you know of another one who does his own tax return.  Did my first one as a senior in high school (the old 'short form'), where I worked about 32 hours a week.

The taxpayer is ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the filing.  The preparer may well represent the taxpayer in event of an audit, but even with the guarantee that some offer, they will only accept responsibility for THEIR error.  They are subject to bad/incomplete information from the taxpayer, and will deny any responsibility for errors/omissions if that incomplete/bad information caused the error.

I have always done my own taxes, from when I was 18 to when TurboTax first came out. Like most people here, why pay someone else, when I can do it myself?? TurboTax is great, because it will put in all the information from the last year's 1040 to current.

I used to do our taxes . . .

. . . then I made an error which cost us $600 (child-care expenses).  When I got the notice, I went and got the form out and saw immediately where I had made the mistake.  My wife told me, "You're not doing them again.  Take them to H&R Block."  So, that's what I've done for the past three (four?) years. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

33. This year for the first time we efiled

BUT... we sent the physical payment we needed to send certified, return receipt. So I had to drag my happy ass to the Post Office to fill the forms and all that. I did such.

I just did it at the beginning of the month, never ever wait for the last day

AND ... she KNOWS Romney was just trying to use this to revive his career and her hubby had to put in some OT:

39. To be honest, it is not about Romney

it is about the postal service. The photo was staged (I don't give a fig what he files, or how)... but when we have posters here claiming that normal people don't do that, it is swipe at the service. At least in my view. I posted the reality, hubby had two extra hours of work today, because normal people apparently do not use the postal service for this.

there you go, the nadin has spoken

I think most people who pay someone to do their taxes have no idea how simple and quick it is with modern tax software.

There is a huge industry out there that depends on making it sound too complicated to do yourself, and they've convinced a lot of people.

There's got to be a racist angle here to exploit.
I did my own taxes for years.
Now I go to a tax preparation volunteer outfit in town a buddy told me about.
Quite a few of them are retired IRS workers.

I used to do my taxes, but when I once worked a lot of different jobs in the 80's one time, I wanted to make sure I wasn't making any mistakes.

When he got done with my return, I ended up getting nearly all my withholding back, and owed a lot less on the jobs where I didn't have withholding. Had I tried to do this myself, I would have lost about $3,000, a HELL of a lot of money back when I was in my early 20's.

The tax guy I used says that EZ forms are really there to prevent people from determining their actual bill, which in nearly every case is significantly less than using the EZ return scales. He did my taxes the next 20 years, and saw zero audits. Each time he did it, it was significantly lower than my own estimation if I did it myself.

Of course, I got lucky and used someone who knew his shit, which of course is key. One can run into a total dunce or even crook and really screw the pooch, but just do a little bit extra work and you'd be amazed at how much you can keep away your hard earned sweat from Obama and (Socialist) Company.

Haven't bothered to do mine yet.
They owe me money.
They don't care about that part.
They only get testy when you owe them money.
