Title: LFR responds to Help Wanted 'sings'
Post by: dane on April 11, 2014, 04:25:12 PM
With LFR *and* Dorkangel posting regularly now, I don't miss gNads' word salads as much.

Here, LFR has applied for more part time positions.

Went to 4TH. Ave here in Tucson!

And now that the street car stuff is done they have Help wanted sings up!

Put in 3 applications and talked with the owners for 2 that put in for!

That would be so cool! These are small stores and they just need someone part time in the evenings!

When it rains it pours! Some times Bad, but then sometimes GOOD!
Yup. A good communications major will cover all bases by using 'sometimes' as one word AND two.  One of them must be correct.

The other is a clothing shop.

It's a wonder there aren't more artesians arm in arm with artisens. Artisans seem to be more prevalent.

I could use some artesian water, maybe I can pay LFR to pick some up for me.

Wait nope, she'd mess it up.

Probably quit halfway through.

Notice please, she got "decor" right (the little thingamajig atop the "e"), but she got "artisan" wrong.

Methinks Amber's better at French than at Engish.

I grew up in Arizona. I visited family in Tucson.
I know for a fact that "tourists" do not seek out the slum areas to go shopping in.

The nicer areas seek out better employees, and I'll bet one look at Amber will set off all the alarms.

4th Avenue is a slum area?  Isn't it very near the UofA?

I guess she didn't get that other job, the one where she got lost and blamed the directions on the internet site. If she said that at the interview, that would've been enough right there.

Can't see Amber working in an "artisan" shop unless she loses a hundred or so pounds and starts dressing in all black. It is an image thing.

Reminds me of the analogy, "like a bull in a china shop".

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of primitive interest in Amber's finding a job.

4. I still have my job at the coffee shop.

But I want to see about finding something with a little more of a wage. It is interesting how many small places are offering more than $7.80 an hour. But is the small places doing that, not so much the bigger stores.

I find out more when I place "Company Policy" on the line that asks about wage. Some places offer more, but will only pay what you mark.

So if you mark what your state has as minimum wage, you may be cheating yourself.

You worked in "Methinks" quite nicely there. Nice call back. I don't remember seeing you reply in that thread. Of course that means you will have to head right over there and make your presence known !

Maybe in addition to being good at French( those buggers) and not so good at English, LFR cares more about decor(with the little thingamajig atop the "e") than she does about artisans, or artisens for that matter.

By the way I detect a note of racism in the word "thingamajig". Let me get back to you on that.

Now that is the question of the day. If not the week.
