Could have those deaths/injuries been prevented if firearms were allowed on the base?
Could have an armed civilian or military person stopped the attacker sooner, before he killed and injured so many people?

BUT- a bunch of people were killed or wounded while we waited for the MPs to show up. The shooter offed himself as soon as he was confronted.

An MP handled the situation. A bunch of cowboys would likely have made it worse. In fact, people would not have known who the bad guy with a gun was. They'd be shooting each other, thinking they were heroes. You gun guys really have a distorted view of these things.
You guys really believe, you'd assess the situation correctly, coolly pull your weapon before the first innocent person was killed, squeeze off a shot while not endangering others, and smoke a cigarette afterwards as you bask in the country's gratitude, awaiting Obama's congratulatory call to say express our thanks.
Hoyt says he was in the military, but his work there was classified... and won't tell us anything about it, so HE has a true prespective on teh situation.
It's too bad, Hoyt, that I can run your ISP and find you in just a few minutes... then, trace your military claim... in just a few more minutes...

One of my teachers said the same thing about allowing students to carry on campus. Basically, in her world, if a gunman walked in the room, all the people with concealed carry permits would shoot each other.

This thread reminds me of the kiddie leash. It looked like a dog leash that parents put their kids on. How many libs became libs as a result of that traumatization ?
