Caps on Total Campaign Giving Voided by U.S. High Court
A divided U.S. Supreme Court struck down decades-old limits on the total money donors can give to federal candidates and parties, issuing its biggest campaign-finance ruling since the 2010 Citizens United decision.
Voting 5-4 along ideological lines, the court today said the caps violated the speech rights of Shaun McCutcheon, an Alabama Republican official seeking to give candidates, parties and political committees more than the $123,200 maximum. The court stopped short of undercutting a 1976 ruling that allows caps on contributions to individual candidates.
The limits “intrude without justification on a citizen’s ability to exercise the most fundamental First Amendment activities,†Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the court’s lead opinion.

For the most part, big money Dem contributors don't support the anti-capitalist nutsos the primitives, the koskiddies, and other assorted kooks desire. And what are their $10 contributions compared to those who disagree with their lunacy?
There's a primitive over there who claims to be a big money contributor (wish I could find their user name) who's been in their face telling them in a round about way that they are a bunch of nobodies. They've also mentioned that in this coming election some candidates have been calling and pleading for money, but that they and other big money contributors aren't going to be laying it out. Of course, this angers the primitives.

He ranks with the sobbing fat chick with the "Investigate All 88" sign after Bev fell $10 short of rescuing Ohio from Diebold in 2004.
So democracy died in Florida in 2000, it died in Ohio, and it died in Wisconsin, and then died again with Citizen's United, and of course it died whenever occupoopers got moved out, and now it's died again today.
Democracy must be a cat.
