I just got back, in case anyone's noticed I was absent.
Yesterday, after the earthquake in Chile, I noticed the applegrove primitive was the first with the news in General Discussion, and it seemed a pretty good thread, but I expected the cousin to show up and start her own thread on the subject, because the cousin doesn't like being upstaged.
I just did a quick check of Skins's island.
No nadin threads on the earthquake?
She's letting us, and the primitives, down.

Come on Frank, she's driving down there for 1st hand reports!!! :-)
-
Isn't that a big rule of being a reporter? not being a part of the news? she was vacationing in Chile and did a cannonball into the ocean.

In her new wildland fire/earthquake headgear. :-)

29. Sorry, been covering the news
as in a major quake south of the border.
So what did I miss? (And yes I have seen it happen, one of many reasons why I avoid posting my thoughts here anymore)

17. Well should be long enough to go look at the Spanish press
Got the alert but was taking a tad
Give me a few to check tje chile press.
Huh? She was taking a tad? What does that mean in nadin? Sleeping on the job? Doing the deed?

She drinks a lot of coffee, probably had to take a grumpy. It cracks me up that she considers re-posting tweets at the DUmp as reporting.

I thought the same thing, but then realized what was happening.
Our nadin was exhausted from completing that groundbreaking scoop on the San Diego water department's future planning.
She needed some downtime to recover.
Journo-ing is hard work.
You didn't see Woodward and Bernstein reporting on traffic accidents the day after Nixon resigned, did you?
But she did show up on Bill Pitt's grovelling thread to remind everyone it's all about nadin:

118. No need for this Will, that is my opinion.
and while we are not on friendly terms, what you expressed is coming in waves.
Oh and welcome to my world. I have that problem around these parts.
Why if the Chile event happened in San Diego, I would not be posting here. I would be in the field, but that is another story.
After coming home, and filing my story, and crashing, I would let a few du'ers know we are safe over PM, and then that's that.
A few on this place can be real mean, and what you are experiencing is exactly what I get every day.

Attention whore doesn't begin to describe her.

Great find!
<<<wonders when the cousin's going to realize she needs some intensive heavy-duty industrial-strength mental health counseling.

27. Not shocked at the results
American media has done a terrible job to personalize this.
Hell, I often write in wild fire stories, somewhere, that they are getting more severe due to that. And like clockwork the red pen goes over that line.
I finally managed to get a climate change statement on a water policy article, but only because I quoted the report.
Will it affect me? How about it already is
she is on the job

Of course it is.

Has nads briefed us on the Yellowstone volcano yet?
I'm in the Lava Creek ash bed area, and I need to know if I should be stocking up on canned milk, or if I'll be okay if I just stuff peanut butter in my shoe.

You won't have to stock up on hail. Just be ready to collect it when nads forecasts it.

The last time Yellowstone erupted the climate in Nebraska changed from one like it is in Kenya to what we have today. I don't think stocking up on can food and shotguns are going to help much.

Look up knowologist on urban dictionary....describes Nads perfectly.

I don't know. The Urban Dictionary definition of "knowologist" seems pretty much on target:
An individual who always contributes a perceived fact during a conversation despite
being wrong, and will defend their statement blindly like a douchebag.
A know-it-all who has created a religion out of interrupting people with useless facts or
opinions and believes they are always right.
Which one of you pricks wrote that?

Right. Intrepid reporter from 3 page flyer covers earthquake in CHILE, from Supreme Combined Blob Headquarters located in a San Diego tenement, listening to a playskool radio and a parrot.
WTF????
American media has done a terrible job to personalize this.
Alinsky an earthquake?

Oh well, then. All is well. Unless, you didn't cite the lie from the article.
