UTUSN (37,013 posts)
Just did my 1st Amend. bellowing at LaROUCHEites who had an Impeach sign (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024765522)
I was going to say here "TeaBaggers" (don't know the difference with LaROUCHE). I was surprised/stunned at the Post Office to see a table and umbrella set up outside the property line, with about six campaigners with large pictures of OBAMA with a HITLER mustache and the words "IMPEACH OBAMA" unfathomably (to me) next to a picture of JFK.
My elderly heart started pumping not in a good way. I went inside, dismissed the thought of saying something to the Federal employees since I know about free speech. While in line I decided I was going to say something to them outside. I was wearing my usual ballcap with the Vietnam Vet patch plus one of my original dogtags around my neck. So I calmly hobbled across the parking lot, out outside of the Federal property line to the sidewalk where they were.
They had other signs that said, "PULL OVER IF YOU WANT TO IMPEACH," aimed at passing traffic. Since I was being calm in my walk, the jerks didn't react negatively. They seemed to be in their 30s. One woman was on the phone but said to me as I approached, "Hi, there!1"
I ignored her, stood six feet away from them on the sidewalk, turned facing the post office, sidewise to them, and it poured out BELLOWINGLY from me, "I HAVE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS, TOO, AND ALL OF YOU ARE DISGRACEFUL!!!!!!!"
As I walked to my car, there was silence, then the usual mocking, "Thank you!1" I confess the F word halfway popped from me, not "F *you*" just "F!1" And one of them said, "OBAMA is ****ing the country!1"
I was going somewhere in my car, and I swear the police station was directly along my route, and I went to the front desk and said that I understand the First Amendment but also wonder whether their signs to "pull over" to traffic on a busy traffic turn lane isn't some kind of obstruction of traffic. The officer explained that so long as the lane itself is not blocked, if there is a shoulder, it is not an obstruction. We were both smiling. Then he added, "So what do you want to do?" I said half jokingly, "I want to stop their First Amendment rights," and laughed. He smiled and said, "You want to stop their First Amendment rights." I said, "Theirs, not mine." We both smiled, although I also had some involuntary tearing-up. He said gently, in a sincere offer of civic service, "We can send an officer to look to see that there is a shoulder and that traffic is not impeded and give them a warning if traffic is being impeded." I accepted the sincere offer of civic service.
I Googled back home and see that these LaROUCHE jerks claim to be FDR/JFK heirs in some alternative universe. I also called their office and when the pleasant woman came back from having me on Hold, she said, "I'm sorry to keep you waiting." And I said, "Oh, there's much more to be sorry for" and launched into my "disgraceful" spiel. Surprisingly, she let me finish without hanging up.

Hey utusn. Remember when dissent was patriotic? What changed?
-
Scratch a fascist find a progressive.
While I doubt this happened, I have no doubt that the DUchebag is all for totalitarianism as long as its' side is doing it.
-
I'd give him a B-, no bushes, but cops were involved and converted to his side.

12. Yell at anyone else today that you didn't like the looks of? LOL
Tell us all about those nasty kids on your lawn, and don't forget those darn slow people in the left lane either!

Larouchies are all democrats.
That said they are nuttier than even the DUmmies...with one difference: they have jobs!
Still only a DUmmy can equate yelling at people quietly gathering signatures as Free Speech.

That guy is a fool, he posts inebriated rants in the DU lounge just about every night.

From your favorite web encyclopedia, the LaRouche Movement (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaRouche_movement) appears to have more in common with you than with us:
Restoration of Glass-Steagall. Since 2007, the movement has actively campaigned to restore the Glass-Steagall Act, to separate commercial banking from speculative investment banking, protecting the former and not bailing out the latter.
New Bretton Woods. Advocates the abandonment of floating exchange rates and the return to Bretton Woods-style fixed rates, with gold, or an equivalent, used as under the gold-reserve system. This is not to be confused with the gold standard, which LaRouche does not support.
American System. Espouses a new "American System" of federalized infrastructure projects and national banks and regulation. Named for the historical American System of Henry Clay, but owing more to the ideas of the expansive American School.
Eurasian Land Bridge. Lectures and writes on behalf of a "Eurasian land-bridge", a massive high-speed maglev railway project to span continents and re-invigorate industry and commerce.
Verdi tuning. Argues in favor of what they call "Verdi tuning" in classical music, in which A=432 Hz, as opposed to the common practice today of tuning to A=440 Hz.
Mars colonization. Recommends colonization of the planet Mars, on similar basis as many others in the field, that human survivability depends on territorial diversification.
Strategic Defense Initiative. Supported directed beam weapons for use against ICBMs, and claims credit as the first to propose this to Ronald Reagan. LaRouche does not support rocket-based defensive systems such as anti-ballistic missiles.
Especially telling:
The LaRouche movement opposed the UN sanctions against Iraq in 1991 and the Gulf War in 1991.[13] Supporters formed the "Committee to Save the Children in Iraq"...wonders if Sean Penn is a member.[14] LaRouche blamed the sanctions and war on "Israeli-controlled Moslem fundamentalist groups" and the "Ariel Sharon-dominated government of Israel" whose policies were "dictated by Kissinger and company, through the Hollinger Corporation, which has taken over The Jerusalem Post for that purpose."[15] Left-wing anti-war groups were divided over the LaRouche movement's involvement.
When the do run in a major party it's the democrat party...wonder why? He sounds just crazy enough to buy a 9/11 recreation using cement blocks, chicken wire and newspaper. In their eyes, 0bama would be a warmonger.
