It’s All Over, Obamacare Haters! Why They’ve Officially Lost The Battle (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024764565)
By 11:59:59 p.m. Monday night — the last moment of the Affordable Care Act’s first open enrollment period — sign-ups on Healthcare.gov and 14 state-based exchanges had cleared the symbolic 7 million threshold, according to both administration officials and data experts, and will continue to climb above it over the next few weeks as HHS processes applications from people who were mid-queue when the clock struck midnight. Throw in new Medicaid enrollments, off-exchange enrollments into Qualified Health Plans, young invincibles on their parents’ plans, and the beneficiary total far exceeds 10 million. On net, millions more people — perhaps about 10 million — are now (or will soon be) insured because of Obamacare than were covered beforehand.
That net number will probably be less than initially forecast, but when you account for the fact that almost half of all states didn’t expand Medicaid, and Healthcare.gov effectively experienced a two-month outage last year, you have to be a fanatical Obamacare hater not to call it a comeback. Now that it’s all over but the shouting, conservatives are watching the mechanisms they’ve employed to discredit enrollment numbers shrink away from them. They are left to think wishfully that the new enrollees will not pay their premiums in overwhelming numbers, or deny that they exist altogether. The universe of Obamacare “success stories†is larger than the universe of Obamacare “horror stories†and many of said horror stories fall apart or are revealed to be ambiguous upon mild scrutiny.

The lies they have to tell themselves of the ones they knowingly still believe. :whatever:
-
"We'll see."
And it's not symbolic, it's the lowball end of the minimum number of PAID AND FULLY MAINTAINED policyholders necessary to make the thing work even under the wildly-optimistic estimate parameters imposed on the CBO by the Democrat majority when the program was costed out.
-
7 million enrollees?
Let's see the number of hands who believes Dear Leader's administration and/or their "data experts" are being honest. Do you believe them?
Yeah, me neither.
.
-
I remember the ACA being touted to as to help the "30 million uninsured." Just six million sign up (we don't know if they even paid or if this number is even real) and now it is an unqualified success.
-

Nor do we know how many of those were people that lost their insurance because of Obamacare, nor how many of those are plain leeches signing up for medicaid.
-
I'll go more than that. The Obama regime will claim closer to 8 million with no proof. That way the stupid democrat voters will think it was a grand slam.
When you break down the numbers that the propagandist in King Barky the Incompetent's pay you find out that the entire trashing of our health care system the $2 trillion in taxpayer monies will have in the end have a 2 million people increase in super crappy insurance. We've seen the high water mark for Obama-democrat care. People now have the super crappy insurance but have not found out that their are $6000-12,000 deductibles every year. They will also get the pleasure of finding out that their doctor and hospital that are near them is not in the network. It will be a catastrophe when Obama goes to bail out all of the insurance companies. Forcing people by law to buy super crappy insurance was the easiest part of this debacle. Now comes the hard part. We have seen how utterly incompetent Obama and his merry band of idiots are in the easy part.
And as always, if the DUches make a prognostication 9/10 they are wrong. So we have that going for us.
-
Salon is every bit as insane as the DUmp is, without the cast of characters that we know and loathe. Twitchy keeps an eye on them, we have our plates full. But, the author of the article is a carbon copy of ProSense. What hubris that is: "It's all over!" Go ahead and keep thinking that.
-
From what I heard today on Rush's show, the "source" for the AP's article on this was "2 anonymous sources inside the administration".
IOW, it's all a lie.
-
"It's all over!" Go ahead and keep thinking that.
Just like the republican party in 2008. Then well, 2010 happened and my best guess is the fascist democrats are going to be wishing for the shellacking they got in 10.
-
7 million enrollees?
Let's see the number of hands who believes Dear Leader's administration and/or their "data experts" are being honest. Do you believe them?
Yeah, me neither.
.
It was inevitable they would conjure up that claim...no proof will be offered and still they will say they don`t know any details.
Only hacks and shills believe it.
-
As already stated in the thread. Even though I doubt 7 million is even a real number. These are just sign ups. They aren't actually numbers of people who are paid and getting coverage. Guess what? I signed up last year just to see the cost. Which was ridiculous for me, not that I would want the crap anyone unless I just had absolutely no other choice on earth and had to for some sort of illness. So I am on of the "7 Million" who signed up a but will never pay a cent. There is probably 100's of thousands that did the same thing, or thought it was completely free and once they learn they had to pay will not.
-
So the ACA will now be revenue-neutral now that the government has hit their magic number? No more bailouts or cost overruns for subsized beneficiaries? No more Medicare cuts to pay for ObamaCare?
I'm not going to hold my breath.
-
It was inevitable they would conjure up that claim...no proof will be offered and still they will say they don`t know any details.

No doubt.
It's his "signature legislation." He has no choice but to hang his hat on it and claim that's it's successful. And the media is more than happy to tell whatever story the WH tells them to proclaim. There's no way in the world they're going to let this prez's signature legislation be anything but a rousing success. The headlines for April 1, 2014 regarding obamacare were written 5 years ago.

Oh, I get it. Good one. April fools joke right?
5-6 million of these enrollments were tossed off of the health insurance the were happy with in the first place.
-
I'm not going to hold my breath.
Good, because holding your breath isn't covered under 0bamacare.
-
The 7 million number is pure optical propaganda. The 6 million figure was bullshit and we know it. 3-4 million are policies that were cancelled. The rest are Medicaid add-ons and unpaid. All they have done is shifted previously insured to higher premium, lower coverage plans with increased deductibles.
Yeah....it's ... "winning" :whatever:
-
simple question to lurking DUmmies: How many of these "7" million enrollees have actually (a.) selected a plan and (b) paid for the plan they selected?
-
At the very best, it'll be a 1:1 of people who got kicked off insurance to new members. Net result: 0 new insured, 30 million still uninsured, no actual gain.
-
Oh, I get it. Good one. April fools joke right?
That's what I thought. Then again this whole administration has been a joke.
-
At the very best, it'll be a 1:1 of people who got kicked off insurance to new members. Net result: 0 new insured, 30 million still uninsured, no actual gain.
Oh, but it's the thought that counts.
-
The loons at Salon think that this pesky "payment" thing is just a failed talking point. As if cold hard cash for a completed, legal transaction doesn't matter.
-
I like how they were pointing to all the people who were supposedly signing up yesterday and proclaiming that "PEOPLE REALLY WANT THIS!!!!!1111!!"
I could go put up a 55mph sign on the freeway and people will do it to avoid paying a FINE! Not because they want to drive 55mph on the freeway but because they don't want the pain that can bring.
Sheesh, even the DUmmies have to see that.
KC
-
Reminds me of a car dealership ad. Everyone qualifies!!1!111!!!!
Approval is the hard part, followed by making payments.
-
I am not advocating a handout,we have too many now,but one could make the case that the money spent on the website alone (close to a billion) would have bought insurance for the population for God only knows how long.
The damn thing still doesn`t work.
-
Look, 10 days ago they were claiming that 5 million had signed up. And that was a guess on their part. They couldn't say for sure how many had really signed up. They couldn't give firm numbers on anything. It was all pie-in-the-sky guesses.
So in 10 days 2 million signed up? 2 million people just suddenly decided it was time to go to the site or call the number and get on-board? And now they're absolutely sure about the numbers?
Yeah, totally believable. :whatever:
.
-
I wonder, how many are at the top of the subsidy benefit?
-
Next great Brokeback Obama sale will be the Brokeland bridge.

5. It's more like 9.5 million if you read actual news sites instead of propaganda
I'd post a link but I'm sure I'd be endlessly abused for it, thrown under a bus, called a 1000 different names, branded one of many stereotypical memes and then ignored.
"Yahoo" as a news site, LMFAO!

Hey, if you're gonna believe the 7 million lie, might as well raise the bar to 9.5 million. Why not?

-
April fools DUmmies.
The numbers don't add up. According to the last report, only one third of the enrollees previously had no insurance = 2.1 million. Of that 2.1 million it's estimated that only 80% paid their first premium, which would make the total around 1.68 million.
The real disaster of Obamacare hasn't even come to light yet. Not until all the taxes and mandates have gone into effect. Once that happens, even the dumbasses will be begging to kill it.

I see one in a stroller and one in the oven we'll be paying for for the next 25 years....is that an Obama phone she has or one Obama will tell her she has to drop and budget her money better?
Cell phone or health insurance.....cell phone or health insurance.....you know which one the DUmmies will chose.
-
Liberals are policy oriented, not results oriented. They're invested in obamacare because it makes them feel good about themselves. They can wrap themselves in it and claim they care more about others than you do. It doesn't matter whether or not the policy works, results are irrelevant, just that it exists and they can claim it. As has been noted, you dare to point out it's not working as they claimed and you're immediately called a liar and they're out to try and ruin your life. It's all emotional.
Should obamacare ever make liberals not feel good about themselves, they'll turn on it quicker than you can blink.

I'm not calling everybody in the Obama regime, including Obama himself a liar. but how did Sephillus go from not knowing anything to immediately knowing sign ups? It has been less than two weeks. I find it unbelievable that the most incompetent presidential regime suddenly hit the magic number.
Like all things Obama, this number is fake and I would say divide by 2 to still get a widely over inflated number.
-
If you ever had any doubts that Barry and company would 'roll out' the magical numbers needed to make this a success then you are lying to yourself. They will be so hidden in the woodwork we will never really know how many or who signed up for what.
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/67/Bundesarchiv_Bild_102-17049%2C_Joseph_Goebbels_spricht.jpg/419px-Bundesarchiv_Bild_102-17049%2C_Joseph_Goebbels_spricht.jpg)
"The President has once again triumphed with the enrolling of 9+ Million people into Obamacare!"
-
That seven million number is based on internet clicks.
It's as reliable as an internet petition.
As long as it doesn't include actual payment to an insurance company, what stops an ACORN boiler room from signing up a million times?

Wow....from your link
But numbers from the RAND Corporation study reportedly suggest just 23 percent of enrollees had no insurance previously. Further, the study reveals about just 53 percent of previously uninsured Americans have actually paid for their new plans.
“If those numbers hold, the actual net gain of paid policies among Americans who lacked medical insurance in the pre-Obamacare days would be just 858,298,†the Daily Mail reports.
Another Obama scandal.

This nonsense has been floating around the Internet for years and this self anointed smartest person in the room has just discovered the tripe.
As for the last sentence...
I have no doubt at all the administration will claim to have at least 6.5 million Ocare signups.
It is a given with the ease they lie.
They will also say they have no idea about payments, demographics, previously insured status,etc...
The only ones who will believe it however are you leftist kooks.

Does anyone doubt that by March 31st they will have conjured up another 1.5 million?
Yet when asked age demographics or percentage of those actually having paid over the last 6 months the administration claims to have no idea.
They have redefined what lying is.
They MSM will never pursue real numbers and they will eventually throw every road block possible in the way of anyone ever finding them out.
-
They MSM will never pursue real numbers and they will eventually throw every road block possible in the way of anyone ever finding them out.
They will beat around the bush until the new, common core math kicks in where numbers mean nothing....just the method.
-

That will be filed away with the jug-eared muslim's college transcripts and Clinton's medical report.

I'm sure they were most of them.
-
Since the Barrycare law/tax requires that everybody that's not covered by an employer sponsored health plan has to buy a Barry approved insurance policy or pay a penalty, they should just say that everybody bought one and if anybody tries to deny it, they should have Dingy Harry call them a liar.
-
Obamacare is a load of crap. You have to buy an approved high cost plan from the exchange to get the tax break. You could go directly to an insurance company and find a lower price that meets all the requirements, but no tax break that way. It's a scam.
OTOH, there is still a major court challenge to the law and the tax breaks themselves. The law is worded such that the tax breaks are only available to those that sign up on "state" exchanges, nothing about the federal exchange. People will raise Holy Hell if they signed up on the fed exchange and don't get those tax breaks.
-
A couple questions about the magic miracle number even Harry Houdini couldn't pull out of his hat.
Of this number, what percentage are subsidized? In order for 0bamacare to work there have to be more young, healthy people paying premiums to afford the subsidized policies. Another "promise" of this legislation.
Why are we supposed to believe these numbers are real with absolutely no proof? We only have the word of the same President who said, "If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance" and "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor". How about some documentation to go with those absolutely specific and perfect numbers that materialized just at the exact date and time? It's the government run health insurance version of global warming. No proof, fudged numbers, ample proof it's completely bogus drenched in hysteria and parroted talking points.
Extra Credit:
How's that back end working out? Insurance companies aren't getting the policies or payments from the government from those who've signed up and paid for policies they don't want and that cost more than they can afford? What happens to those people who complied with the law (well, those that signed up before it was cool to go on the website and claim it was a hardship to do so) and go to the doctor or hospital and find out they have no insurance because the insurance companies never got the required payments & paperwork? Should we require insurance companies to hire California Psychics to figure out who their new policy holders are?

I looked at the site when shopping for insurance, but never logged in. Never entered personal information.
Called an insurance company. Signed up for a policy. Didn't like the high deductible and high premium, but that's what was available. No questions about my income.
On my bill there is a tax credit. I have no idea why.
It sure is a scam, and the taxpayer, myself included, are the marks.

Good for you, but that sure isn't the way the law is supposed to work. Of course maybe the insurance company is still unsure too.

It is funny, just like the UE numbers before the election.
Sane people knew it was all BS and a lie and were eventually proved right.
I have no doubt that it will take Freedom of Information requests or even lawsuits to get the administration to reveal any real numbers here but hints of the truth will slip out via some of the major insurers.

Yeah, this lie of their's will flop. They're hoping a lot of people will see the media promote the 7 million figure and think "Oh, it must be working." But that won't fall in line with what's actually happening in people's lives. People will lose their doctors, they will be denied medicine they were receiving before under their old plan, all those pre-existing conditions will not be covered, and the list goes on and on and on. Word will get around.
Think of it this way: If you go to a restaurant and the food is good and you get great service, you'll tell some people about it, like maybe a few close friends if the topic comes up. If the food is good but you get lousy service, you'll tell a whole lot more people about how the food was OK but the service ruined the moment. If you get both bad food and bad service, you're going to tell everybody from family to friends to the stranger on the street.
This is no different.
