LYNDA PETTY, WIFE OF RICHARD PETTY, DIES AT AGE 72.
Lynda Petty, wife of seven-time NASCAR champion Richard Petty, died today at the family's home in Level Cross, N.C.
She was 72.
"We wish to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us and our family throughout the years and at this time," the Petty family said in a statement. "We will forever love and miss a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend."

This is very sad news.
Lynda is gone, I hope that Richard will see fit to hang around with us for awhile longer.
And God bless Kyle and his, Adam was the spitting image of Richard.

My wife met Richard at Bristol race back in 2011 (she walked past security, lol), got his autogragh and a picture with him. During all this , Milk Helton, president of NASCAR, told Richard he needed to go, he had to be on stage for a presentation.
Richard told HIM that this was his fan (pointing to my wife), and he would be right there when he was done!
Only Richard could snub the president of NASCAR for a fan, and get away with it!
