 :???: Um... What would be the point? Would they get to learn stuff during those 8 hours spent in a locked room? Would they find attonement for their crimes?

they search for a way to change their brains to create better understanding of why committing a crime will hurt them? I'd rather see greed, hate, jealousy "cut" out of their brains with drugs. I know it wouldn't be easy, but eradicating poverty might be a step in the right direction, too.

Yeah... the leftists are not going to like that much. Unless they can reprogram all the conservitives away from their 'wrong' thinking.

The one thing that I do agree with the Muslims is their version of punishment. Steal get your hand cutoff. No long term cost. No crook expensive crime universities are eliminate. The nobleness of trading criminals well is highly overrated and very expensive.
