Are Dems Doomed?

This year was always going to be a difficult one for Democrats, as they battle to keep their five-seat majority in the Senate. But in recent months, the political landscape has grown bleaker.

Let's start with the basics: Democrats have more seats at risk this year than Republicans do. Of the 36 Senate seats up for election (including three midterm vacancies), 21 are held by Democrats. And seven of those Democratic seats are in Republican-leaning "red states" that Mitt Romney won in 2012: Alaska, Arkansas, Louisiana, Montana, North Carolina, South Dakota and West Virginia.

The stakes are enormous. If Republicans take control of the Senate and keep the House of Representatives, they'll be able to pass parts of their conservative agenda that have been blocked until now. President Obama will still have veto power, but he'll have to spend his last two years in office stuck on defense.

1. And they'll attach their right wing crud to needed legislation, forcing Obama to either sign it or

veto the good stuff. It's not a pretty scene. And 2016 is just around the corner.

<<<thinks they'd force the 0bamessiah to veto the bad stuff, not the good stuff.

2. The Dems ARE Doomed

unless and until they begin taking their really Angry base seriously.

They've ignored "the Dem Wing" for So long and So many times we've conceded to vote for the "Least Evil/Bad" I doubt they "get it".

At least in My community Dems are NOT going to do that again because in the long run it makes No difference to the actual consequence of their legislation. We either get Screwed quickly and painfully by the GOP-who thankfully don't try to hide it anymore--Or we get screwed slowly by Dems supporting really Bad legislation---who still are in denial about the "mood and determination of the Dem base"--

Too bad for the primitives.

<<<however, am not counting chickens until they're hatched.

While I agree with you, it's nice to see them writhe in anticipation! O-)

For the life of me, I cannot understand why DU insists why the only way for Dems to win is to play to the "angry" part of their base.

That "angry" part consists of DU and the people who have been kicked off DU. And Bartcop, who will not let his death prevent him from voting for every Dem
up for reelection in 2014. Multiple times.

Do you DUmmies really think the whole country is as enraged as you? Do you think families sit around stewing over "white privilege?"

Well, I know the answer to that, because you're stupid. I just can't believe you're really that dumb.

This kind of concerns me because the DUches are pretty good at predicting the wrong thing.

However, this time I think their guess is correct. BTW, King Barky the Incompetent is below 40% approval (39%) in Gallop. IIRC, Obama at 39% means that the donks lose between 9-13 seats in the Senate.

It makes me sick to think of how we gave them two seats in 2012 by running that crackpot Mourdock in Indiana and the "witchy woman" O'Donnell in Delaware.

Both of those seats were in the bag, and the Delaware seat was a pickup, until fringe voters swamped low-turnout primaries.
