gaaah. finally biting the bullet and looking at ACA.
When I ran the Kaiser calculator last year, it showed me as qualifying for a completely subsidized bronze plan, so I went from hating ACA to neutral since shitty insurance was cheaper than the penalty.
Ran the same Kaiser calculator this year, and now I'm only partially subsidized, and the amount I pay exceeds the penalty, which has increased to $240 for me based on last year's income (which could easily change dramatically, not for the better).
As a per diem, I don't get health insurance with my MLT job.
As a part timer, I am offered health insurance at my other part time job -- which works out to just a hair under 9.5% of my annual income, so if I keep that job I don't qualify for subsidies. Frankly, just the cost of insurance makes it unaffordable for me to stay there; they already pay much less than the MLT.
So while I've been thinking of quitting that job and just doing the per diem MLT, I had also been thinking of just taking the summer w/out pay during the MLT high season, and then returning during the other job high season. Now, I think that 2nd option is gone. I will either have to quit in order to qualify for the subsidies or just pay the penalty.
No matter what, it is cheaper for me to just pay the effing penalty.
At least I have a choice other than Harvard Pilgrim, the scumsucking thieves who left me to die 30 years ago when I was septic.

That's for sure. She thinks her choices are to either quit her second job so she can get the crappy bronze plan (60/40) with a big subsidy, or just to stay as she is and forego insurance all together.
Apparently the second job does offer insurance for $240 a mo, which would make her ineligible for the ACA and you don't get a subsidy with employer covered insurance.
She's 60 years old, I don't think she should push her luck, but that bronze plan sounds like crap.

The gold plan is crap.

I think they all are. A doctor during an interview said the Obamacare plans were only one step up from Medicaid.

I know of a loser POS that has racked up $200K+ in very good doctor bills with Medical. That is way more than this person will ever make or be worth to society. However, she thinks she is a very special snowflake and also gets SSDI, section 8 and a myriad of other goodies. It must take 20 hard working middle class families to afford this POS. Surprisingly she does not post at the DUmp.

Does he/she/it have to pay for birth control, too?

Isn't that what aunt Pelosi had in mind ? ("now that you have health insurance, you can quit your job and learn an instrument")

Princess Pelosi needs to quit her job so she can get "free" healthcare.

Now magical thyme will have more "thyme" to devote to her art without having to be tied down to a job.
Another one of Nancy Pelosi's wishes granted by the Almighty Obama.

They remind me of those plans they used to advertise on television that would pay you $100 a day while you were in the hospital.
It was a scam, but at least it didn't have a $6000 deductible.

Sucks to be you, dummie. You wanted it, you own it!!!! Oh and BTW... that penalty tax will get more and more expensive as time goes on. Not to mention when obumblescare doesn't hit what it needs in the way of people signing up, expect obumbles to use his pen and jack up the penalty tax even more.
I have zero sympathy.

Don't know what s/h/it is worried about. If you structure your deductions right, and you have no refund from the IRS at tax time, they (HHS) can't fee you for not buying into the Demoncare.
They can't dun you.
They can't put a lien on your assets.
They can't collect except through withholding your tax refund money.
If you can hold out until 2017, it will all be gone, well mostly gone.

I wonder if the herb was feeling that tingling feeling in her lower rectal area when signing up?
-
The big surprise will be when the idiot realizes that she has a $7000 deductible that has to be paid first.

then wait until they find out that is EVERY year.

Many of the DUmmies are now finding the pitfalls in aunt Pelosi's statement about having to pass the bill to find out what's in it.

That's the trouble with O'care. No one is buying it, the insurance companies are having a fit and we're going to have to bail them out, now that most of their patients are costing them money.
