Health care costs in the US are completely reasonable (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024609915)

Raccoon bite, rabies series?

$18,000. I shit you not. I was walking, didn't spend a day in the hospital, just got injected with bad shit in the emergency room and got shots that took a total of five minutes apiece.

My insurance has refused to cover it. I'm officially ****ed.

9. I thought under the ACA they had to cover stuff like this

of course they must have exit doors every where.

10. This is insurance before the ACA

I think I'm just screwed. If it was 4 or 5 thousand, I would handle it, no problem. I can't do 18,000 though.

Sure, none of this was 0bamacare's fault.  :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

Many DUmmies like Treadwell like to feed dangerous animals against the law and or against the advice of conservation officers and other animal behaviorists. Another wild animal libs love to feed is alligators. It's like they think their "love" will soothe the savage beast and the beast will "love" them back.
I suspect something similar in this case.

I think that Israeli bulldozers are cute and snugly.

If you stand behind them then you get warm from their exhaust.

Usually...it's just dirt, you just scoop it up and maybe put it in a dump truck.

Other times... :dozer:

My only regret is that the bill didn't have another 0 next to it.  180,000 would put the Dummy out of his house..

Homeless DUmmies are the best kind, especially when they're homeless in the middle of winter, during a record cold snap, caused by Gorebull Warming.tm.   :lmao:

$18,000. I spent maybe an hour in the ER, nothing special, didn't get anesthesia or anything, just horrible crap injected into my hand. I then spent about ten minutes for the next five shots.

Like I said, I'm stunned.

And yes, my insurance company is balking and refuses to pay.

Ahem...

Vaccination After an Exposure

Anyone who has been bitten by an animal, or who otherwise may have been exposed to rabies, should clean the wound and see a doctor immediately. The doctor will determine if they need to be vaccinated.

A person who is exposed and has never been vaccinated against rabies should get four doses of rabies vaccine - one dose right away, and additional doses on the third, seventh and fourteenth days. They should also get another shot called Rabies Immune Globulin at the same time as the first dose.

A person who has been previously vaccinated should get two doses of rabies vaccine - one right away and another on the third day. Rabies Immune Globulin is not needed.

http://www.vaccines.gov/diseases/rabies

Quote
In the United States, patients receive one dose of ''human rabies immunoglobulin'' (HRIG) and four doses of rabies vaccine over a fourteen day period. The immunoglobulin dose should not exceed 20 units per kilogram body weight. HRIG is very expensive and constitutes the vast majority of the cost of post-exposure treatment, ranging as high as several thousand dollars. As much as possible of this dose should be infiltrated around the bites, with the remainder being given by deep intramuscular injection at a site distant from the vaccination site. The first dose of rabies vaccine is given as soon as possible after exposure, with additional doses on days three, seven and fourteen after the first. Patients that have previously received pre-exposure vaccination do not receive the immunoglobulin, only the post-exposure vaccinations on day 0 and 3.

Sounds like DUmmy got all of the shots at once. Could be that he'll drop off in the dead file. Dunno.

Hmmm, does he have Obamacare insurance?

You know what, if you try to feed a raccoon by hand this should not be unexpected

The same can be said about base jumping, traveling to Egypt or relying on spell check with chrome on windows.

She said her insurance wouldn't pay because it was considered an act of god or something like that.

Sounds like she didn't have insurance and tried to file it with a homeowners policy.

For what little it's worth I think you are exactly right.

Being bit by a wild coon is not an act of God, it's an act of stupidity and that's exactly what insurance was designed for.

Perhaps if the Dummies send enough white light His way, we can avoid this collision course.

Nah, then she'd be able to declare bankruptcy.  18 grand isn't enough to get her out that easy.

Another example of 0bamacare: If you like your rabies, you can keep your rabies.  Or pay $18k.

Rabies is a brain/ neurological wasting disease.  Seems like they weren't really doing much by trying to save her.  That was 18K completely wasted...

As I mentioned in the other thread that was on this, . . .

What about the poor raccoon? :???:  Is it alive?  Did it die from some sort of reaction to the toxins that are present in every DUmmie?

ETA:  Skul provided the answer.  It's a riot.

When I saw that reply from Skul I imagined he might say the raccoon that bit the DUmmie thought she tasted like chicken.
