Has anyone at DU ever said "I don't agree with what Bill Moyers said".
Just curious. He seems like DU's pope sometimes.

Some DUmmies are hesitant only because they sense that Pretzel_Warrior is setting some kind of trap, not because of any dislike of Bill Moyers. Most replies express great admiration.

5. Have you?
Honestly, if Bill Moyers ever expressed an opinion I disagreed with, I have to do some serious rethinking. He's one of those kind of guys.

13. It would be pretty ridiculous to find too much disagreement, considering his intellect
and standing as a very rare example of someone in the news media that is worth paying attention to.
What is your issue with him?

19. Have you ever watched Bill Moyers on PBS?
If you would watch several of his shows, you would understand why he is admired. His interviewing skills are nonpareil. His humanity and warmth show through. His moral compass is firm. (He did attend seminary, after all.)
One DUmmy has a nagging feeling that there was something that he disagreed with Bill Moyers about but he can't quite put his finger on what it was. Response to Pretzel_Warrior (Original post)Sun Mar 2, 2014, 12:02 AM

22. You know, honestly I have but I can't remember what it was. What's odd is that the only
reason I remember is because I disagreed. Maybe I need to do some homework. If I like what someone says 100% of the time I'm going to be very concerned. I think that's unnatural. I don't question his reporting or ethics, that's more than I can say about most journalists.
Let me see if I can help refresh your memory, DUmmy okaawhatever. Was this it?
Bill Moyers’ gay witch hunt. Is the liberal PBS host a hypocrite for trying to out LBJ staffers?
Liberal PBS host Bill Moyers has some explaining to do, said Jack Shafer in Slate. The Washington Post reported that when Moyers was working for President Lyndon Johnson, he directed J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI to investigate whether two fellow Johnson administration officials had “homosexual tendencies.†The “gay hunting†made political sense in 1964—LBJ aide Walter Jenkins had just been arrested having gay sex in a restroom—but Moyers should own up to it.
This isn’t the first time Moyers’ name has been linked to gay hunting, said The Wall Street Journal in an editorial. Federal judge Laurence Silberman, who read all of Hoover’s secret files in 1975, says that Moyers also asked the FBI to search for any homosexuals working for LBJ’s 1964 rival, Barry Goldwater. Amazingly, this is the same Moyers who has remade himself into a “political moralist.â€

It's not like he refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding or something really bad, only an FBI directed gay witch hunt.
Just a gentle reminder for those DUmmies who have selective amnesia when it comes to the history of the democrat party.

It seems the Pittster had an article picked up by Moyers website where the drunk referred to Dear Leader in words deemed inappropriate to the cult worshipers. This upset PW and others because they like giving Dear Leader fellatio every chance they get. So you get threads like that from PW and the other cheerleaders.

Who is Bill Moyers? /sarcasm off

Bill Moyers reminds me of Bill Press, and somewhat of Phil Donahue. I have a tough time stomaching any of them.
