I'll take false analogies for $1,000 please, Alex.

I am the victim of legalized religious discrimination. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024575041)

It is my deeply and sincerely held belief that I should try to beat some sense into the conservative Christians around me, but there are laws in every state preventing me from doing so. I find these laws to be an intolerable infringement on my religious freedom.

Ha Ha!

Jerkpine Radical is my official DUmmy alter-ego. I look to him for guidance on all things that require a deep level of critical thinking.

So this idiot thinks he should have the legal right to beat up someone because of their religious views? He can't just avoid them as much as possible. And since when is violence against another person a religious freedom issue? If someone punched him for being a liberal and anti Christian bigoted douche, the first thing he'd do is press charges and then find a civil lawyer to sue for damages. This has to be sarcasm.

Not backing a cake is the moral equivalent of punching someone in the nose.

This whole thing is so stupid! This is the only bakery within a 50 mile radius? Why would you want to get a cake from a bakery that clearly didn't want to make it. Certainly they'd, consciously or not, put less effort into a cake they didn't want to make. I doubt the bakery would refuse to make them a birthday cake or sell them today's muffins or donuts. It's not an issue of discrimination, but religious conviction.

That's exactly what the bakery in Colorado said.

Trying to please liberals is like trying to nail Jello to  a tree.  It's not going to happen.

Hey, I'm a victim of elected morons who try to convince me that things in their best interest are actually in my best interest. Can I sue too?

It's grievance mongering. They wanted to find a baker who would refuse to serve them so they could take the issue to court to have the government intervene.

It's all a giant scam to win in court what they can't win at the ballots.

We might have to respond in kind.

Go find a gay baker and have them bake a cake that says, "Fags are ****ing assholes."

Take the issue to court to have the government intervene...and make enough money to pay for their "wedding" and "honeymoon."

These fake hypotheticals are getting more ridiculous by the day.  Are we to believe that liberal men are physically imposing now ?

This is a common theme on liberal boards everywhere. (not just with the nuts at DU).

Liberals/socialists cannot tolerate people disagreeing with them. They really want to commit violence. They want it so bad they can taste it. But they cannot as long as free people are also armed.

Petrified.  While I was playing sports and hitting the gym, liberal men were eating kale and watching the Vagina Monologues.

The only thing you need to look out for with liberal men at your gym is your cornhole when you are in the shower.

I believe the poster was speaking of religion and not life style.

This poster goes to a bake shop for a wedding cake with a cross on top,   oops the shop is run by Muslims.

No, he's referring to the bakery that doesn't want to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple because it goes against their religious beliefs. Besides they would never in a million years pass legislation to require a Muslim bakery to make a cake with a cross on it for a Christian couple. He says he wants to "beat some sense into the conservative Christians". The latest reason for the left to be offended is because the owners of the bakery want to "discriminate" against a gay couple. Evidently, there aren't any other bakeries in town because instead of going to a different one, this gay couple is insisting on legislation that forces them to make a wedding cake for anyone who wants one. I guess it's still okay to refuse to serve people with no shoes and shirts for now but it probably won't be long before they're no longer allowed to discriminate against feet.

That's ok, I would really love to tell the DUmpmonkey that the only reason most people are alive is that's it's illegal to kill them.  :fuelfire:

Just don't know about this.    There are places that make some amazing cakes , I went to the bakery at a supermarket, the help were excited to make something different from everyday cakes.  I had been shocked at the price of cakes in private Bakery's, some wanted to sell a cake for gosh sake for over $100.00 for a small wedding, for a big deal wedding, the cakes could go up to $1500 or much more .

For less then $40.00 I received a double high rise cake with anything I wanted on it.   I could have had any religious emblem including that of the Wicca or Satanist's.

One of the bakers told me that some Gays had come in and ordered cakes with unusual centerpieces. These they had to buy and bring in themselves to complete the top arrangement.

So what is the problem people have with wedding cakes.   Now I understand why the Monarchy in France was taken down then good old Marie told the subjects they had no bread, well let them eat cake.

The homosexual couple could get their cake at the WalMart bakery, and go to the toy section for two Ken dolls. Pose the Ken dolls having buttsex for a cake topper.

It will be a reception to remember.

Double fudge with cream frosting.

(And it just gets worse from here.)
