They're talented but you're just sick of listening to them.
For me:
Journey
Boston
-
The Who.
-
Bachman Turner Overdrive
Aerosmith
-
How good they really were is debatable but I really don't like listening to Nirvana any more.
-
The Beatles
*George Harrison and Ringo Starr songs excluded

I don't like listening to them either. Cobain's suicide and the money-grubbing fallout between the band and Courtney Love turned me off.
-
I couldn't hear a song and tell you which band it came from, except for maybe Alabama (80's) or the Gypsy Kings.
-
J. Geils Band
Guns N Roses
Green Day
Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi
Agree with all, though I'll keep the J. Geils Band on if it's their pre-MTV stuff (Must of Got Lost, Whammer Jammer, etc.).
-
Jackson Browne
Bruce Springsteen (except for a couple real oldies of his)
Boston
REO Speedwagon (other than a few select older songs)
-
Whelp, you all have pretty much listed my entire 8-track tape collection...are you happy now ?

IMHO, the ones that I posted are just overplayed. Sorry, Eaglekeeper.

Tom Petty. But I don't like Tom Petty, so that probably isn't the right answer.
Metallica. See Tom Petty reference above.
AC/DC. Ok, I like AC/DC, but I only hear like 3-5 of their songs, all the time.
-
Genesis -- post Peter Gabriel
R.E.M -- anything after 1991
-
We have an ongoing bet here. Anyone who can drive from any point A to any point B without hearing AC/DC wins.

Not a problem. I listen to either the George Carlin channel, straight-ahead jazz, or the Sixties. I wouldn't know AC/DC if the battery blew up. :shucks:

We listen to a fairly new station that plays old country, lots of stuff from the 70's and before with a little from the early 80's.

Taylor Swift

J. Geils Band
Guns N Roses
Green Day
Bon Jovi
I don't consider Bon Jovi a good band.

Sounding a little bourgeoisie there....you got some of that fancy schmancy satellite radio?

It was a song by the Sweet on their Desolation Boulevard album (most famous for "Fox on the Run" and "Ballroom Blitz").
-
and Justin Bieber... :-)

I loved that album when I was in high school. Liked Sweet's Give Us a Wink album too.

You listen to stations that play him?
Just... EWWWW

H5 for recognizing the group and the album!
It was years before people realized they were semi-parody Glam (and probably a big influence on the creation of Spinal Tap).
N.B.: I every now and then use the "whistle" open to FOTR for my cell ringtone :)

The straight-ahead jazz leads me to believe so. I doubt there is any station up in Eupher's neck of the woods playing that sub genre on the radio. :-)

The local classic rock station played a lot of Sweet when I was a kid. Back in the days when they never identified that band name, they would mostly just play music and no internet to look up what they played. Always liked them.

Indeed I do. Doesn't everybody? :whistling: :-)

Most of us don't live in the middle of nowhere and have access to broadcast radio. :cheersmate:

Sorry, it just doesn't register. The rock I listen to pretty much taps out at 1972. I stopped paying attention to it after that point.

Or like paying for extra stuff.

Believe me, listening to all those damned commercials is payment I can't stand anymore.

Oh, you pay for it. The radio you listen to is paid for by those who listen to the commercials -- even if you don't buy the crap they're selling. :-)

Agreed. I do satellite and paid for Pandora to avoid commercials at any cost.

Desolation Blvd. was 1974.
But I agree with your basic premise -- R & R was pretty much done by 1972. There were a few exceptions but I have mostly listened to news/talk radio since then.
-
Most of the year, I listen to sports radio
-
Queen
Rolling Stones
Steve Miller
-
Genesis -- post Peter Gabriel
R.E.M -- anything after 1991
I'm going to see Steve Hackett play Genesis songs, next month.

Love it!
So far I've seen Phil Collins back in 1990, Peter Gabriel in 2012, Steve Hackett next month. Which leaves Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.
