Obama to Request New Rules for Cutting Truck Pollution
President Obama will direct the Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday to develop new regulations by March 2016 to reduce planet-warming greenhouse gas pollution from truck tailpipes.
United States car and truck manufacturers have lobbied heavily against aggressive increases in federal fuel economy standards, saying that they could increase vehicle prices and diminish safety. The White House said in a statement that the E.P.A. would work closely with the Transportation Department and with truck manufacturers as it prepared the rules.
Pollution from transportation is the nation’s second-largest source of greenhouse gas pollution. In 2011, the E.P.A. issued its first round of fuel-economy regulations for United States trucks and heavy-duty vehicles built in the model years 2014 to 2018, which the agency projects will reduce carbon pollution by 270 million metric tons, or the equivalent of taking 56 million passenger vehicles off the road for a year.
Mr. Obama will tell the E.P.A. on Tuesday to prepare the next round of truck model standards.
Mr. Obama’s direction is among several executive actions he is taking on climate change, absent movement from Congress. He has also directed the E.P.A. to issue by June 1 a draft regulation to rein in carbon pollution from existing coal-fired power plants, the nation’s largest source of carbon pollution.

The congress and the courts are becoming obsolete.

Well damn, just got tier 4 engines out and they're already outdated....parking AF1 would go a long way toward covering for truck pollution.
Got to control the flow of food and goods. Stalin showed that that works well to control the peasants.

Great. The new fuel efficiency standards for trucks is sure to cause a price increase in everything sold in stores.
The new regulations for coal fired power plants will cause some more plants to close, and those that stay open will have to charge more. If they can't stay competitive with gas fired plants, then they will ending up closing too.
Higher energy costs and rolling blackouts, are they what Obama has planned? Or is he just trying to force the issue of solar and wind being competitive with coal and electric.

It is clear at this point that in desperation Obozo is going to play to the absolute lunatic left and to hell with the country.

..."The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I've just received word that the Emperor has dissolved the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away."

That's ok because soon everyone will be making at least $15.00 an hour so it's all good.
