My hearts went away
I had just received two new ones earlier today.
We should get to keep them for the week.

I don't think you will see anything more pathetic on the island today.

I suspect counting hearts is the closest most of the DUmmies have ever been to sitting at the 'cool kids' table in middle school.

Which she'll be nowhere near.

She could be useful as a flotation device.

I still think my fellow alum Skins is missing out on a surefire fund-raiser, though, by not having such a feature every single month. For example, in March, instead of hearts, they could be shamrocks. In April they could be swastikas (Hitler's birthday, April 21). In May they could be, well, whatever symbol turns the primitives on about May. And so on.

May's easy... May day is held in very high regard by people that think as they do.

I will miss the hearts. It was an easy way to find out which primitives are the ones to watch for the next DOTY.

It'd sure make our jobs easier, if the primitives were allowed to rate each other, "cool," "uncool," whatnot.
<<<has wasted a lot of time observing uncool primitives.

I logged in the at the DUmp late last week and to my surprise, I had five hearts anonymously donated. I didn't even beg for them. Thanks DUmmies!!!

It is neat how the "uncool" ones will self-identify.
One of the DUmmies started a thread with "I have 88 hearts to give away. Who wants one?"
The "uncool" primitives beat a path to his door with "I'll take one", "Give me one", and so forth but never the truthful "I'm uncool and will never sit at the cool kids table, so let me have on to let me pretend". No, that never appeared.
Relocate that thread, and there will be the handy list of losers.

Uh huh. I remember that thread. Perhaps I should go back to pick up some primitive names; primitives not worth one's while watching.
You know, years ago, I made a big mistake. What's going on underneath the surface of the water's more important than what one sees on top of the water, and usually I try to be that way. But being human, I err every so often, if not most of the time.
I'd figured the sparkling old dude was one of the most popular primitives on Skins's island, and for years I did my part to make him a star.
But oops, as events proved--years later--the sparkling old dude wasn't at all that popular among his fellow primitives.
And here, I'd invested, wasted, a lot of time on him.

He has disappeared, evaporated, yet I've seen not a single DUmmy mentioning his absence. Do you suppose Sparkly took the house and computers?

I got a few also. I wouldn't be surprised if they just stick a couple on every poster for visibility hoping more dummies would be stupid enough to buy them just because they thought someone bought them some.

that's actually a very valid sales tactic... kind of along the lines of this:
