Marta and I would have given extra thought to buying a VW next time we need a new car
Those plans are on hold. The story will continue.

2. Just out of curiosity, who would you be punishing?
Volkswagen? The workers who voted no? Corker?
My dearest Demit:
1) OS will not respond - the only time he does to his own threads is to give the thread an attention-whoring bump;
2) OS had no plans on purchasing a VW - not now, not ever and as such is hurting no one.

H5. So true.

Why do you hate America, Steven? Why would you even consider not buying a Detroit made car built by good union goons.
Oh well, I'll keep enjoying my Passat while you DUmbasses bitch and moan about people making a choice you don't like.

The last 2 vehicles I bought were assembled in Newport News, VA, and Arlington, TX. Both DAMNED GOOD trucks!
The one prior to these was made in New Jersey, and was a POS. I will never own another vehicle made north of the Mason-Dixon line.

11. In other words, you wouldn't have bought a VW anyway...
...so, not much of an OP, really.
Yep

It doesn't matter if he buys one or not. Volkswagen has been the vehicle of choice of his people since the 60s.

Please notice the "would have".
Well, blubberboy, franksolich would have given extra thought to buying the Taj Mahal when he needs to move.

I'll just keep driving my red '89 Bronco (probably be buried in it).
BTW, I've never owned a vehicle not made by Ford, Chrysler or GM in the 60 years I've had a driver's license.

Outside of a couple of Subaru's, and a Chevy LUV truck (Isuzu), same here.

Freaking drama queen who was never considering buying a VW anyway.

Did they ever track down the bitter former employee who threatened Gearhart Chevrolet with a bomb?

I wonder if disgruntled former employee Doug Bulna was involved in that bomb threat at Gearhart Chevrolet?

It is interesting given that Doug Bulna was recently fired from Gearhart Chevrolet for sabotaging company property.

The pieces all fit. It would explain Doug Bulna's revenge for getting fired from Gearhart Chevrolet.

I've never owned a car built in the USA. I don't knowingly buy things built by labor unions.

Does VW even make a car in OS's size?

They used to . . .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Phaeton
It's referred to as a 'saloon' (British reference), so it's pretty big.

I looked at the picture of the front seat of that thing.
Ain't no way the big guy's going to squeeze into the driver's seat.
If that's the biggest Volkswagen can do, the big guy couldn't have a Volkswagen even if he wanted one.

The funniest commercial on TV is the one showing Shaquille O'Neal wedged into the driver's seat of that little Buick. He could no more drive that car than he could flap his arms and fly.

Well, I suppose that's why he's been trying to get disability--he'd have a driver, then.

True. On top of the fact that gay men love them.
