United Auto Workers Union Rejected By Volkswagen Workers At Tennessee Plant
Workers at a Volkswagen factory in Tennessee have rejected the United Auto Workers union.
The 712 to 626 vote is a devastating blow to the union and its efforts to organize other Southern plants run by foreign automakers.
About 1,500 workers were eligible to vote during three days of balloting that ended Friday night.
Experts say it was the best chance for the union to gain a foothold in the South, where it's been shunned by other workers.
Volkswagen tacitly endorsed the union and even allowed organizers into the plant to make their sales pitch.

No pithy comments? No opinion as to why this happened? Where have you been.

Yes, three days. Go figure.
I presume it was to allow those on regular days off to vote without taking personal time.

Douglas is an expert on employee rights in the auto industry. I expect that once the DUmmies get going on their day, plenty of "ask the expert" questions will be sent the way of Douglas.

2. why do you think it failed, i seem to remember you work for one of the US automakers,
can you at a personal level give insight on why you believe they did not want to join your union.
Yes Doug, please give us your insights on the vote.

Given that it was a secret ballot, this has to really be stinging...

Did the UAW learn anything? Probably not. The workers have spoken.

Hey Doug Bulna!!! Why did you work at a non-union car dealership, Gearhart Chevrolet? Did you have anything to do with the bomb threat there this week?

Yes sir, there was a bomb threat at Gearhart Chevrolet in New Jersey this week. Doug Bulna, while not directly implicated, is a disgruntled former employee of Gearhart Chevrolet.

Hmmm.
I think since walrus-face has been gone for so long, the primitives would be traffic-jamming this thread.
But apparently the primitives don't care about the brain-damaged one.

Especially since Doug Bulna, recently fired from Gearhart Chevrolet in New Jersey, has a history of anger issues while posting as DainBramaged on www.democraticunderground.com

I'm still wondering if Doug Bulna ever got another job after being fired from Gearhart Chevrolet for hiding the remote to the customer waiting room TV cause he disagreed with the TV station selection.
