Woman goes on bloody rampage after boyfriend refused to have sex with her

20. Indeed. That is why men are regularly beat up and murdered by their female partners. (Snort)
Statistics prove that hell hath no fury like a man scorned.

2. My guess
The boyfriend is cheating on her.
Relevancy?

5. Did you look past the drunk, stupid or crazy ...
to arrive at that conclusion?
Egnever (13,390 posts)
12. Couple of things lead me to that conclusion
I come home to a woman I am attracted to enough to be in a relationship with naked and asking for sex I don't hesitate to get busy. Now if I am sick of her then my reaction certainly changes. 18 years with my wife though and I have never gotten sick of her.
The rampage seems a little over the top for a no to sex. Maybe she is just nuts but I am guessing there is a lot more behind it.
Hey maybe I am wrong and she is just nucking futs.
Either way makes no difference to me. Curious that you seem so invested in it though.

63. According to the article
she was intoxicated. There is nothing more unattractive than a sloppy drunk partner trying to have sex when you are sober. That doesn't mean he was cheating. That just means he didn't want to have sex with a drunk woman.
exboyfil (3,977 posts)
66. How drunk does she have to be before
it is date rape to have sex with her? Here is guidance from a website http://teenadvice.about.com/od/daterape/a/daterapeguysfyi_2.htm
"Bottom line, if a girl is intoxicated she cannot consent to sex and you could be charged with rape. It does not matter whether you knew she was intoxicated, it doesn’t matter if you were intoxicated too, all that matters is that she was not in a state of mind to consent and therefore it is rape."
I would not want to say an ongoing relationship implies consent. We all know a husband can rape his wife. Is it always rape when one partner says it is?
TRANSLATION: As women drink they become more helpless. As men drink they become more morally and legally culpable.
SOLUTION: Women should not be allowed to drink.
Dorian Gray (7,820 posts)
68. Nobody claimed rape
or anything in this case. What is interesting, though, is that he did make the responsible choice not to have sex with his intoxicated partner.

9. Post partum psychosis + self medication with alcohol
definitely needs looking into. Instead, they'll throw the book at her. This country is barbaric when it comes to mental health issues.
TRANSLATION: "The hormones made me do it."
Not that men are allowed to succumb to their hormonal impulses for sex and violence. They are the obviously superior sex that is expected -- because only they are capable -- of overcoming mere biology.

11. Agreed. A 4 month old baby indicates (to me) that's she's suffering from post-partum issues
It may be this is meth/drug addiction stuff.
Maybe not. But the age of that baby has my alarm bells ringing that this is a mental health issue.
TRANSLATION: Get you female to the abortion clinic! The abortion today will save you from a naked, drunken ass-whipping later because bitches just can't help themselves.
Warpy (74,277 posts)
33. Yes, it's got self medication all over it.
I just hope the local DA sees it that way and gets her some help as part of a plea bargain.
She's still pretty, a sign that if she's into meth, she hasn't been for all that long.
Silent3 (7,552 posts)
14. Perhaps this does need to be handled as a mental health issue, rather than a criminal matter...
...but I have to wonder, if it were a man who acted like this because a woman refused him sex, and a man had bashed a baby's head against a dresser, would you be so quick to express a desire to spare the man jail time?
davidn3600 (2,513 posts)
16. A man would be considered an "animal" if he acted this way when sex is refused
When women do violent things, we want to give them mental health.
When men do violent things, we want to throw them in prison.
Because only men are sufficiently evolved to understand the necessity of civilized behavior.
DUH!

"You guys, I found an article that says some woman somewhere did something awful! Let's talk about how bitches are oppressing us!"
In fact, women are so infantile we shouldn't even report about them acting this way. You have to understand this is just how those people act.

27. Do men suffer from post-partum depression/psychosis?
Women are really nothing more than walking sacks of hormones...

52. Post partum stuff is way different
It comes on suddenly and often you don't even realize it's happening to you.
That said...I'm not sure this sounds like PPD...but I read the article and I failed to notice where she hurt the man? The title is misleading...the 'bloody' was her own blood from punching walls and pictures. The part about the baby sounds like an accident to me...as a mother of 4 I've accidentally whacked my babies' heads against something [It's how you raise them to be good liberals -- Sgt SB] (usually the door frame) while carrying them. It always happens when you are in a hurry [New article title: Hormonal woman in a hurry for sex bangs baby's head -- Sgt SB] and the baby throws their head back while you aren't paying attention. It's something that happens to all mothers at least once, but no one really talks about it. I avoided it with my 4th baby because I was so paranoid and I got better at recognizing when a baby was ready to throw themselves backwards. I'm not sure hitting the baby's head against something once accidentally is child abuse... BUT!! It should go without saying though that she shouldn't be carrying her child around while drunk. She should've been charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage but the other charges I'm not so sure about. Of course, it's a short, poorly written article so maybe I'm missing something.

56. You seem to be offended that people are suspecting she's got post-natal depression...
I share their suspicions seeing as how she's got a 4 month old baby.
davidn3600 (2,513 posts)
57. Im offended that a few people are treating this different because of her gender
Like I said in the other post...what if there was a gun in the house and she killed her boyfriend. Would the fact she has postpartum psychosis excuse that as well? Do women who have such condition able to freely go out and do whatever they please without penalty of law?
Many men who are in prison for doing violent things did so under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Many of them have mental illness. Many of them are victims of abuse themselves. No one wants to hear those excuses for why they committed their crimes. So why do we have to hear excuses for why women commit their own crimes and get lighter sentences for those excuses?
Apparently women aren't good at reading either:
Star Member Violet_Crumble (31,396 posts)
59. No-one but you is saying post-natal depression is an excuse or justification...
And the fact is that there was no gun and she didn't kill anyone. You've already been told that men don't get post-natal depression, so I'm not sure why yr trying to twist this into a gender issue.
Unfortunately in the US, post-natal depression is ignored more often than not. I remember the case of a woman who drowned her kids. It was clear she had post-natal depression and needed help, but the post-natal depression wasn't taken into account in the trial or the sentencing. She needed help, which she should have got before things got to such a horrific stage, but she didn't get it after the US justice system was finished with her...
Fortunately there's a big, strong, intellectually-capable man to straighten out her pretty little head:
davidn3600 (2,513 posts)
60. Post #33 says she should get a reduced sentence because of it
And post #14 makes the point that a man wouldnt be given such leniency for a mental health issue. I agreed and said that when men commit violent crime, they get thrown in prison but when women do it, we want to give them help. Yet then Im called the sexist.
Star Member Warpy (74,277 posts)
53. When men give birth, they can have postpartum psychosis, too. We won't hog it all.
Until then, it looks like the woman didn't damage anyone but herself. I see men are saying she "bashed" her baby into a dresser when the scenario says it's more likely she accidentally bumped it.
With an infant this young, a woman's out of control behavior has to be looked into in that context.
The bloody rampages men go on rarely end with hurting themselves, only.
She didn't hurt anyone but herself...
...but if men watch Kate Upton eating a cheeseburger they contribute to the "rape culture."

30. Wow. I understand why her boyfriend didn't want sex. Who would want another baby with
a psycho?
Gravitycollapse (5,001 posts)
31. Yes, because she's just a baby factory. And that's all sex is about...
having kids. It couldn't possibly be more complex than that.
Welcome to CPAC.
Well, judging from the thread women aren't capable of much.

and, man o man, she did some crazy things. Thank hank, that country wisdom of her women kinfolk saw what she was going through. And thank hank the family rallied around. Including my dad who was the primary victim of her "craziness".
I cannot assert that she was suffering postpartum... but the indications are there.

44. What has ANYONE said that is woman hating?
95% of the news articles posted on the internet is about men doing violent and evil things. Yet you post a story about a woman doing something violent and suddenly that makes you a misogynist. Give me a break!
I have asked for absolutely NOTHING ELSE but for men and women to be treated exactly the same. If a man bashes his baby's head on a dresser in a drunken rampage because his girlfriend refused sex. He needs to go to jail! If a woman does it...SHE NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL!
How the F*** do you view that as sexist?
She can't help herself.

Man, for barely qualifying "people", you sure do like to spend a lot of time in other peoples' bedrooms and demand that they follow arbitrary advice and rules generated by others.
I guess the Church Of LIbEral Progressive Fundamentalism demands it.

Those ugly, shrill harpies can go from merely indignant to snarling, screaming, bitchy feminist victim in about 2 seconds. It seems to me if they really want equality, they'd hold women to the same standards as men.
There's no indication this woman had PPD but they desperately want to assign a reason for her behavior to turn her into a victim. But, let's assume she does. It's a mood disorder, like depression or bipolar disorder. There are medications she can take that are safe for both her and her baby to help her get through this. If it were a man with a mood disorder there would be no sympathy for him. Not an ounce. Unless he was gay, of course.
However, she wasn't suffering from anything but her own stupidity by drinking way too much. She has a baby but couldn't be bothered to cut herself off before she turned into a sloppy drunk. Because of her actions her baby's head connected with a dresser while she was also listening to mother turn into a screaming banshee. She was out of control, that bump (and we don't know how hard the bump was) could've cracked the baby's skull in!
They would never be this blase with a man, too bad they consider their own gender to be too weak to be held to the same standard. Just shows they're not ready for true equality. You can't have it both ways. That's the problem with feminism. They want to be perpetual victims so they're given special consideration, but get pissed off if you want them to take responsibility when they're wrong.

Hi5, you are steel on target with your comments. I couldn't have said it better.

The group of people whose arguments you're highlighting are the reasons why that site is so infuriating these days. Even for someone like me, who is probably more "left" than many of you, I cannot stand those people who think their reactionary non-fact based feelings are the end of all discussion. One cannot even have a discussion with them without them jumping to ridiculous conclusions about motives. And if you do manage to make a point to prove them false, they simply ignore it and then scream that you're stalking and persecuting them because you hate women. HELLO? Isn't that place a discussion board in which they started a discussion?
I don't know if I can say this here, but they are all ****S!
