Thugs: Union publishes names of members who opted-out in ‘Freeloaders List’ (http://dailycaller.com/2014/02/11/thugs-union-publishes-names-of-members-who-opted-out-in-freeloaders-list/)

Michigan workers who exercise their right to opt-out of union membership are publicly scolded for their disloyalty by Operating Engineers Local 324, which publishes their names and places of employment in a quarterly “Freeloaders List.”
Michigan became the 24th right-to-work state in 2012, granting workers the option to quit union membership and cease paying dues. Many workers who either don’t feel adequately represented or disagree with their union’s liberal politics made the choice to quit.
But at least one union, Local 324, has responded by publishing the names of those who left the union in its quarterly report. The implication of the “Freeloaders List” is that workers who exercised their legal rights not to be affiliated with the union are somehow traitors. The list includes 19 names.
<snip>
The 19 non members should publish a list of "communist sympathizers".It might require the expertise of a good community organizer.
Yeah, umm...
Those of you - like myself - unsurprised by this "shocking behavior" on the part of Union Thugs,
I hope those that were named, carry concealed.Some newspapers have taken to reporting the names and addresses of all concealed carry permit holders.

I was informed at my last interview that as a condition of employment, union dues would be taken out of my paycheck.
That would be as I understand it whether I join the union or not.
I don't know if there is a difference of dues yet between members and non members.
But if they're taking dues money that make you a member de jure unless I am mistaken.
I know I should not say it, but I never knew an employee could be forced to have union wages taken out of their paycheck.
I hope those that were named, carry concealed.They have a reason to now.
I'm surprised this wasn't the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga. Since they recently voted for UAW representation, the state is talking about ending tax breaks that were contingent on VW moving into the state.
Way to shoot yourselves in the foot, assholes.
Thank you for that. It makes more sense to me now.
Make sure that policy is in harmony with the Beck Decision (http://www.mackinac.org/1403). Beck says they only take out the percentage of union dues used for collective bargaining, from someone who doesn't want to belong to a union. The union is required under the stipulations of Beck to report/publish the figure annually, and most unions try hard to bury it and make it as hard to find as humanly possible.
