If you could create a new political party in the USA...
what would your platform be? Just curious what good ideas DU'ers might believe in. I'll go first.
1) All future elections are government financed/no private money is permitted/no lobbying is allowed.
2) Corporate government subsidies are for new technology only....
3) and so on..... add your own...

You DUmmies are the biggest violators and abusers of this right. When a right of queer marriage is put to a popular vote, it is defeated every time. DUmbasses then get a moonbat judge to overturn the will of the people.

6. Here's a few more..
1)Complete restoration of the New Deal policies (40 hour work week, lunch and rest breaks, proper over time pay, minimum wage, guaranteed vacation and time off)
2)Yearly raise of the minimum wage to coincide with inflation.
3) A flat tax at 15%
4) Cut military funding by half
5) Funnel the military money into social programs, education, arts and humanities

21. Some things that come to mind
I like the public financing and universal healthcare (and non-profit!)
English would become the official language, all citizens must pass a written and oral test.
The environment would become as important and as much of a priority as the defense industry is today.
The USA would begin a new intensive, well-funded space technology program, with the aim of landing a man on Mars within 20 years.
We make an international statement that we once again respect all nations and countries sovereignty and borders. We apologize to the world for the Iraq invasion.
We make a new focus on new energy technology, including solar, and other green technologies, and try to make new discoveries as well.
We stop being a war-like nation, and announce we are now more interested in peace, prosperity for all countries, and diplomacy.
The USA stops all unauthorized spying, and a new focus on the rights and respect of civil liberties is implemented.

OK, everyone, I admit. Throw this in, and I'll cede EVERYTHING, including single payer (although private health can be allowed), if everything else is allowed.
(Well, most everything; climate change can be front and center but cannot dictate actual policiy).
You see, if they are SERIOUS about the 15% flat rate for everyone, INCLUDING gazillionaires, then our economic problems are solved. Absolutely, across the board.
Of COURSE, they aren't serious about it, because taxes was never about revenue, but about control. However, if they insist on using this as "negotiation", and it was iron-clad, that would pretty much destroy all their other petty grievances in one fell swoop.

I'd call my party the "I Don't Give a Damn What You Think Party"....I'd get 95% of the democrat vote. I'd promise the independents a few things and I would be a shew in. Then I would tell everyone, "I won. Get over it."
Wait a minute, I think we already have a party like that.

If it's going to be full of moonbats, there are already a couple right up their alley - the Greens, the Communist Part USA, the Socialist Party, and a dozen other wack-job splinters from them.
I favor the Letsava Party, but it's hard to find enough designated drivers to hold meetings.

If I had to start a political party for DUers I'd call it the Cult Party, and I'd treat it just like a cult.
First, I'd tell them something that they know to be true.
Example: Some people have more wealth than you have.
Second, I'd tell them something that they WANT to be true.
Example: You should have what those who are wealthier than you have, and you should not have to work for it.
Third, after they are hooked by the first two steps, I'd tell them what I want to be true.
Example: I should be your leader, senator, representative, president, etc.

Maybe all the gun grabbers would choose to stay with the democrat party instead of starting a new party and that is why gun grabbing doesn't appear as a new party plank proposal. Maybe it has been so long since an exploitable gun related tragedy has resonated with the DUmp that gun grabbing has slipped their minds. It just seemed odd that gun grabbing didn't make their dream platform.

I don't know how many parties, but, by results of their votes, there are only two groups.
1. The RINO-progressive socialists
2. Tea Party Conservatives/libertarians
AT this point, parties are less a description and more of a posture in how one approaches their intended result. The bottom line: Any vote against a Tea Party principle is a vote for communism. Pure and simple.
