Title: Trey Gowdy ask, "Can the president suspend election law?"
Post by: JohnnyReb on February 09, 2014, 03:58:49 PM
7 1/2 minute video and he never does get an answer other than, "I....uh.....uh.....uh.....well....uh....uh....I don't know". Trey list other laws passed by congress that Obama has suspended so suspending election law should be no biggie to Obama and crowd.

Remember when Saddam Hussein came to power he stood before his "congress" and called out names of those that opposed him. They were led out of the hall and shot. Something like that may happen here .......and soon.

I would predict that there would be a mass migration of heavily armed individuals to washington, if that were to happen.

That's why every violation of the Constitution needs to be prosecuted. Precedence comes at a price - sometimes a very stiff price.

The "perfect trap" has already been laid.

What do those who support him do when he pushes a boundary that is OBVIOUSLY contrary to the Constitution?  It should have been done already -- when he said  "wherever and whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, that's what I'm going to do."

The next day, discussion about impeachment should have been aggressively pushed, because this is clearly in violation of his oath to uphold the Constitution.  The Constitution exists of THREE branches of government - to provide checks and balances so that no one branch can unilaterally ram personal decisions down the throats of the citizens.

But.. so far, no one is addressing this tyrannical view which clearly intends to dismiss any influence by Congress and/or the Senate.

So -- why was this statement ignored - by "conservatives" as well as by liberals?

It hasn't been ignored by Conservatives.  They have already had hearings regarding Obama's authority.  As for the three branches of government, the House is only one half of a third of government.  They can stomp their feet all they want, but as long as Reid and Co. are controlling the Senate, nothing much will happen.

The House could impeach him, but they couldn't remove him from office without a trial in the Senate and a 2/3 vote.

It was back at the beginning of Dec I think.  The video posted here is part of it.  It was a congressional hearing on Presidential powers.

Several things were brought up during the hearing.

One of the persons interviewed was a Georgetown law professor and member of the Cato Institute.

He was good, I'll try to find a video of him.

Ok -- so, nothing new since the state of the union... when he said this, which was basically flipping  them off,  about their ability to negate his Presidential powers.

hmmm.

Wow -- nearly a dozen completely unwarranted snarky and disrespectful comments in the DAY I've been visiting this forum.

I thought the first border-line snarky comment about "being friendly" was a territorial display, but now I am beginning to suspect that it was a desperate plea for help...

The ******* 17th Amendment once again rears its ugly head.

I can trace the beginning of the end of the Constitution as a viable framework to run what was until then the freest country ever imagined by Mankind to May 13, 1912.

May its writers and supporters rot in hell alongside FDR forever.

Gotta love that "unwarranted" term...  Translated from libtardspeak it means "stuff I don't like."
