Oh my.
Skins's island is pretty slow and boring today, so I think I'll go away and do something else.
But before that, I had to check on the cooking and baking primitives.

What's for Dinner ~ Saturday ~ Feb 8th
No clue here yet, it's almost our bedtime...such weird hours!
Please notice the time of dear old sweet Lu's post.
Of course, there might be a reason for it; befuddled bewhiskered hubby Bill, he with the face of a laconic Pennsylvania Dutch farmer, works the night shift at the local sawmill.

5. Howdy all!
Sorry I haven't been around.
I had special visitors for a week. We had some excellent meals out and in. The Chicken Tinga with red rice and refried black beans was big hit.
Then I did some traveling. Had a long ferry ride with 2 inedible meals, but now in Mazatlan.
Had excellent beef tacos last night and have been eating street food today - stuffed breads, candied peanuts, coconut cake.
Went to the Mazatlan market today and I've never seen anything like it. Whole cows laid on counters for the butcher, beautiful chickens, vegetables and fruits. Unfortunately no kitchen right now, but back to cooking tomorrow.
Hope everyone is well.

6. was wondering where you were!
I figured you were traveling but then when you wrote about it above, I recall you saying you were having guests soon. Turns out it was both!
The chicken tinga meal sounds terrific and I'm not surprised to hear they loved it.
The RG has been doing the cooking here. Last night was 2 different kinds of pork stews and today he made my favorite meal: chicken francese. Rosemary potatoes and fennel-apple salad.
All this in addition to knocking off the painting of the kitchen for me. Let's just say I'm a bit slow when it comes to stuff like that. I did the priming, though, and also painted the ceiling.
Next up is to call in an electrician for another round of lighting installation

10. I don't think I can ever go back, fizzgig.
But I'm trying to keep how great it is on the lowdown.
Already too many gringos here.

9. we went to denny's
i worked seven hours on my day off and then had way too much fun at a friend's house, so i needed grease and salt. i had hash browns smothered with sausage gravy, an english muffin, a double order of bacon and entirely too much coffee.
i am so lucky to have a husband who will forego beer for several hours just to pick my drunk self up and take me out for a gut bomb.
Hmmmm.
No "greatauntoftriplets" primitive yesterday, nor on today's "what's for supper?" thread.
She must be having trouble with her badly-fitting dentures or something.

She's always crying about not having money. I wonder what their beer tab is a week.

The "greatauntoftriplets" primitive finally showed up, on the Sunday "what's for supper?" thread (this is the one from yesterday, Saturday). Her false teeth must've stopped troubling her.
Anyway, according to the front page of the cooking and baking forum, it's now been three hours since the last primitive comment, on any topic, any thread.
It's Sunday evening, when the forum used to be bustling with action, a new comment every several seconds, no more than a whole minute.
Dear old sweet Lu's been about as good as cyanide, as hostess of the forum.

I had a frozen pizza I heated up in the oven, a cold beer, and 3 hours of NHRA Drag Racing! :yahoo:
Next week, the Sprint Unlimited from Dayton International Speedway ! Double :yahoo: :yahoo:
Week after that, the Daytona 500! Triple :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Only difference this year is I'll be watching it from my house instead of the bleachers. :bawl:

I went out to eat for Mexican food. I had fajitas. Steak, chicken and shrimp.
