Decades of Greed: Behind the Scenes With An Angry Walmart Manager
never mind the rest

2. I had to go in for one of my drugs today
and I was struck by how empty a lot of the shelves are.
I guess it's all sitting out in the parking lot or crammed into the back of he store.
They have never been decent to their employees, well, not since Sam Walton died. Now incompetence at the top is starting to destroy the business from the bottom up.
Home Depot had one of those shitty CEOs, fired all the old guys who'd retired from the building trades who knew what was going on and hired a bunch of feckless teenagers who didn't because they were cheaper. They nearly went under because of it.
I have no idea what they are teaching in b-schools these days, but it should be scrapped.

16. Wait a minute - if Walmart is bad to the bone,
Should we be going there for our drugs?
Warpy (74,199 posts) Fri Feb 7, 2014, 09:16 PM
17. We should if we're retired [sic!] and they're the cheapest.
I didn't should on you, why are you trying to should on me?

19. Because if we think something is deplorable, we shouldn't participate.
And if we participate, should we complain?
Anyway, it is not impossible to shop around and find drugs just as cheaply elsewhere. Several friends of mine have done that, and in one or two cases, yes, they did need to go to WalMart's for one or two of the meds, as otherwise the cost was prohibitively expensive.
But the other meds were reasonably priced at other pharmacies, and the quality was as good.
Plus customer service was superior.
And one of the pharmacies actually employs only union workers, as well.

22. Uh, you're not my judge.
Try to remember that sometime.

20. As far as "should's" -
If friends should not let friends drink and drive, should friends let friends add to the economic social, environmental blight that comes from supporting WalMart's?
-
Well it is the beginning of the month and EBT cards were just reloaded, so that is why the shelves are empty.

Where does Warpy live?

Where does Warpy live?
In some tumbleweed-ridden town in New Mexico, up near where the "four corners" of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado intersect.
She moved there after she lost her Massachusetts nursing license.

Maybe here or there but overall you are a liar.
How well stocked is a hospitals drug inventory asshole?

I've noticed when trying to capture good material for People of Walmart that the best subjects present themselves around the beginning of each month.

I thought that the DUmmies main drug source was illegal aliens from Mexico?

17. We should if we're retired
Wait..if you're caught stealing drugs, get fired, and then get banned for life from your profession, does that count as "retired"?

Great idea, DUmmy. Go running to pharmacies all over town to pick up different prescriptions. You deserve a life of misery.

I had to go there today to shop for my mom. I can't walk anyway with this hippo I'm birthing but I so wanted to kill everyone there. I buy at Costco only. Wal-Mart sucks!!

Costco is great if you need something they sell, and have storage space for huge quantities.
We go there for meat, fish, K-cups, sometimes baked goods, and Costco's top seller, unplanned purchases.
The thing is, they only carry a tiny fraction of the items a WalMart stocks.
No matter what you need, you'll probably find it at WalMart and it's cheaper than any other place.
You also get the satisfaction of supporting a company that democrats hate.

I live in a grocery desert. We have a Walmart, Kroger, County Market, and Aldis. We usually go to Walmart or County Market, which is a more regional chain.

I don't get the left's hatred of stores. They are nothing more than distribution centers. Not unlike the dollar store or the Salvation Army.

I don't know, but here's one of the TAs:

It might have been a Journalism TA. Same difference.

I love reading about the Generation of Aquarius spending the entirety of their twilight years chasing pharmaceuticals.

It's nearly 1 AM here, woke up with a headache, sitting quietly waiting for it to ease up, and found this that made a real life LOL.
Thanks, and Hi5

I really can't avoid it unless I drive into Eugene, which I can't do everyday. We have a Safeway where I do most of my grocery shopping, a Grocery Outlet that is okay for some things but doesn't have much variety, a Walgreens where I buy my prescriptions (and buy make-up depending upon how many bonus points I have) and BiMart which basically expensive and useless. Oh, and a feed store (actually 2) and Ace Hardware. Other than that, it's pretty much churches and bars around here.
