Is DU a Liberal Message Board? (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024444398)
By your definition of the word liberal.

5. Well, people do talk about a somewhat liberal party's ideals, but not so much on principle
Being a big tent we tend to throw out principles we believe in when it comes to people doing things we don't personally like - which isn't really liberal but politics in general.

6. Seems like there is a strong libertarian streak
for many posters. I also observe a restorationist attitude with a desire to turn the clock back to the 1960s.

Thankfully they're easy to spot.

10. It's Democratic
Democrats are a heterogeneous party, therefore we have a wide range of opinions. Liberal is one part of the political spectrum represented within the Democratic party.

11. For the most part, yes...
Of course, it's got room for a lot of varied opinions. Not everyone is going to view one idea as purely liberal as another. I don't think it's something you can nail down. I also think that most of us here at DU are accepting of other ideas and I also believe that many of us can appreciate a good spirited debate about ideas.
In the end, our common goals is what binds us together. We all want a better world that has no room for ignorance, racism or intolerance.

12. Honestly, it used to be so liberal, it was kind of frightening.
And I'm about as liberal as it gets these days here abouts. Back in earlier times, I was sort of right-leaning Democrat.
It's still liberal, but not like it used to be, no.
I'll take bat-shit insanely liberal for $1000, Alex.

Skimmer only named it democratunderground because 'IHateAmerica.com' was taken.

Yes. Easy to spot. ::)
I would say that nearly 99.9% of the people that DUers have pegged as moles are genuine DU members who, for some reason or other, views one or two points with some sort of common sense. Real moles blend in because it's fairly easy to act like a lunatic.
By the way, I apologize to whichever one of you guys on CC happens to be Cali_Democrat.

My God.
What we've always said about the primitives is true.
The primitives are delusional if they think Skins's island is "mainstream."
The primitives are so far out of the stream they're not even getting their shoes wet walking on the far left bank.

I rolled my eyes, too.
Hey, kali the DUmmycrat: this libertarian's DU mole has almost twice as many posts as you, and has been on so many juries I should get a civics award from Skins himself.

I would say more like "Gay Trotskyite" myself, but whatever floats your boat, DUmmies.

h5 for Wiggy on that. I wish I knew how to create a podcast or do a radio show based on this site. That would be hilarious!

DUmmy Theater, On The Air. Read DUmmy threads with different voices based on their personalities.
A drunken, slurring South Boston male - Poor, Poor Pitiful Pitt
A duck-quacking Mexican Kruschev - gNads
Lovey Howell - kpete
Tommy Chong - the next incarnation of Taverner
Adult baby with a Canuck accent - LocoPuffs
The highlight of the week could be "The Aching Seed Poetry Slam", with a quavering octogenarian reading pornographic sonnets in falsetto.

And let's not forget RedQueen, Seabeyond, and Biggunz in a vignette performance acting out the witches' meeting from MacBeth.

Indeed!
RedQueen's voice could be Bea Arthur, and Seabeyond that big seafaring woman from Westward the Women.
What suggestions for the voice of PhDD?

DUmmies think DU is not left enough. They are really delusional. :mental:

Every liberal I know feels the same way. A couple of my college buddies are quite liberal, yet they always claim they are moderate. Just like they claim that NBC, CNN, etc are moderate. They just shift the political paradigm to fit their narrative.

Let's go with the dulcet tones of Rachael Ray on that one.

Lot of self-delusion in that thread.

Betty Boop mainlining smack.

:jerkit: So, die. That's one ignorant, intolerant racist gone.

I'm going to take the sea-hag from Westward the Women off the table. This is my dream lineup:
RedQueen: Bea Arthur
Seabeyond: Gilbert Gottfried
PhDD: Bobcat Goldthwait, with a Minesooota accent

Stinky the Dude - James Cagney, rendered by Bugs Bunny
The Bellevue Bolshevik - Jackie Gleason as Ralph Kramden
Subway Cat - The Abominable Snow Rabbit from the Loony Tunes cartoon - "I will hug him and hold him and call him George."

Then you should be all for closing down the DUmp since it's chock full of ignorance, racism and intolerance.

That's double speak for being "open minded" at the DUmp.
