Why DU matters

"A popular Government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy; or, perhaps, both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives."
 -- James Madison, Letter to W. T. Barry, August 4, 1822.

FYI: James Madison with Thomas Jefferson helped found the movement that would become the Democratic Party.* Ask yourself if you knew that before now.

*but neither would recognize today's Democrat party as what they created; there's not the least resemblence.

1. "Knowledge will forever govern ignorance ..." Well, except in America circa 2014.*

*well, actually except on Skins's island circa 2001-2014.

After which there's a whole lot of primitive grunting-and-snorting that's not worth bringing over.

17. it's the 2-party system that's killing this country now.

lots of news outlets now. but when the country is governed by two right-leaning parties, it is of little use.

Lurking DUmbasses...the only thing you do is cause laughter at times and revulsion at others for sane human beings.

3. I agree with what Dorothy had to say ...

“The heaviest restriction upon the freedom of public opinion is not the official censorship of a press, but the unofficial censorship by a press which exists not so much to express opinion as to manufacture it.”

Dorothy L. Sayers
1893-1957

British writer, essayist, playwright and translator.

Does that DUmmie realize that the MSM is doing exactly that and that the press is working in favor of the Obama Regime?

They both would deny the bastard child that the democrat party has become....even ask for DNA test....which would show that the democrat party had a communist father, not a founding father.

They think that the MSM is conservative.  The only crunchy news they believe is what Madcow feeds them.

Ugh..Looks like it's time for the monthly mentally masturbatory "We're So Important" thread.

You know, no other forum on any other website does this.  Not that I've ever observed.

What a bunch of insecure shitheads.  So you blather on a message board all day.  Who cares?  You zipperheads actually think that its relevant?

There are millions of people around the world blathering on millions of forums everyday.  Big deal.  :whatever:

Two right-leaning parties? As if the founders were to the left of the Democrats and modern RINOS? Bitch, our founders would have shot all you clowns by now.

Ask yourself also if you knew that these two who helped found the movement that would become the Democrat Party were also slave owners.  Now, how Democrat is that?

Rather ironic given that the DUmbasses are always screaming for viewpoints they disagree with to be silenced.

Bear in mind that Octafish is the one who has several hard drives full of BFEE and other conspiracy theory lunacy and regularly posts walls of text on the subject, so there's your "popular information".

Madison and Jefferson would go to war with the modern day democrat party. They would see no difference between King George and the democrat party, none.

Exactly... didn't claim that proponents of limited governments were akin to anarchists?

I'm convinced that not one Dummy or liberal has ever read the Constitution or the Federalist Papers.

I suspect Jefferson and Madison would be somewhat more comfortable with George III who after all did have some constraints on his power; unlike what the primitives want the Big Zero to have, absolute power.

George didn't really care what you did as long as you paid your small percentage of taxes on the goods you sold and didn't touch the trees deemed his. The Democrat party wants almost ALL your money paid in taxes, wants to control every aspect of your life, and doesn't want you touching any tree. The founders would have already eradicated these Marxist ****s by now.
