Oh my.
The flea market, garage sale, eBay primitives who cheat for a living.

Egad, that was a waste of airwaves.
The new TV program called "Thrift Hunters." Two guys go out thrifting for their online sales. They pick $2 T shirts, coffee mugs by the dozens, this and that. Ugh! I would never waste time trying to sell what they were picking up. A very boring show.
Anyone else see it?

1. No, when and where is it on? Doesn't sound very good, but maybe will improve.

It's easy to buy
It's hard to sell

4. Would love to see this for a good laugh.
Was it on a PBS station?
I have Comcast (miserable) basic cable and don't have a great range of stations.
^^^the chronically-helpless primitive, not to be confused with the anti-Hillary primitive fadedroses.

5. Spike TV
It's on my comcast, but maybe not on yours.
Their web site gives a good taste of it, tho, PR.

6. That may have been the dumbest show I've ever seen.
For starters, who expects to find anything at a yard sale in the middle of the day? If you don't hit it when it first opens, there's rarely anything left to get. Then they go to a retail antique shop to find things to resell and complain the prices are too high. Well . . . duh . . . it's retail. We won't be tuning in again.
^^^the vindictive primitive, whose motto is "you've got to be sharp; you've got to cheat the other guy before he cheats you....."

7. Yard Sale timing can depend... a lot has to do with luck...
Sometimes I have scored big (and cheap) as someone was just beginning to pack stuff away...

8. I actually made my best find ever on my way home one day.
The people were setting up late, though. The stuff hadn't been exposed to the usual suspects [franksolich: by "the usual suspects," the greedy vindictive primitive means her competition, other re-sellers]. Got a painting for $10 that I ended up selling for $5,000. It was a real shocker since I'd never heard of or seen the artist.
<<<hopes the vindictive primitive reported that windfall income to the Internal Revenue Service.

9. You never know what you will find!
I found one original painting and one print that were jammed into a large box of frames (probably 50-60) from an auction for $1... worth about $200...

10. My friend the potter told me that she always...
....sold most when she was packing or unpacking her wares at art shows.

12. Most of my best finds at sales have been serendipitous...
sometimes I bring precise knowledge to the table, but not always... That's with buying stuff all the time, I own a vintage, antique and thrift store...
Some of the best finds have been when I bought something that looked quality...
I saw some quality looking Americana, shelled a quick .75 cent and left in about 2 min.
Got home and found they were EXPENSIVE Goebel Masonic pieces
after which a photograph of a couple of crude ceramics
I found a cool looking turn of the century lamp... bought for $5 and found it was created by a prominent American architect and hero of the Titanic: Edward Kent

But yeah, you still have to be able to develop an eye that recognizes quality even when it is a bit hidden...

13. ...and I LOVE the research.
That's one of the best parts of this job.
I also love to return things to people who have a family connection. An old autograph book, a photo of grandpa's town band, etc. That's very rewarding.

I hope they went back to the original owners and shared the profit.
Income inequality being the defining challenge of our time that I have heard it to be.

Yeah, I'm sure they did....being the 'spread the wealth around a little' types that they are.

Or at the least gave 75% (their minimum, highest tax rate) to a homeless person for food and care.

Poor addled grasswipe!
The purpose of her OP was to give her fellow DUmmies the impression that she has the means to afford cable TV.
It's unusual for someone who suffers her limitations to care about making an impression on others, but she apprently does.
Toddling down the sidewalk on trash day, bundled in multiple overcoats and tugging her little red American Flyer wagon, she still wants other DUmmies to envy her.

frank, you live rent free in their heads. Since the greedy vindictive primitive makes such windfall profits, maybe you should start charging for having to float around in there.
