The staffers braved the falling snow and ice and Chick-fil-A refused to take a single penny for their sandwiches.

The meal was a gift – no strings attached.

So why did they give away their food?

“This company is based on taking care of people and loving people before you’re worried about money or profit,” Pitts says. “We were just trying to follow the model that we’ve all worked under for so long and the model that we’ve come to love. There was really nothing else we could have done but try to help people any way we could.”

The Chick-fil-A also allowed anyone who wanted to sleep on a bench or a booth.

Nice!  If there were any around here, I'd give them a try.

One of my daughters works at a dumpy (but profitable) bar in the area.  It's near a truck stop, but truckers rarely stop in.  We had some weather that closed the highways last weekend.  Many of the truckers drifted over to where she was working.

The owner was stuck out of town, but called and told her to unlock the pool tables so they could play free.  Same with the juke box.  Told her to keep the coffee fresh and hot, and had a restaurant he owns bring over beef BBQ sandwich fixings and chips at no cost.

These guys aren't likely to start coming in on future trips, the owner was just helping folks out.  Daughter did make great tips, though.

Now you know is Obama's media dogs had pushed the story, the headline would have been  "Christian eatery tries to poison stranded motorists"

My husband works at a college, so surrounded by libs.  One of them posted this on Facebook with a comment about Chik-Fil-A screening for gays before handing out food.   ::)  The oh-so-tolerant and loving left...  :mental:

I would have passed by any car with an Obama sticker, unless there were kids in the car.
