If a person is "afraid" of speaking out, revealing perceived wrongdoing or lawbreaking on any part of the government, then they are not fit to lead and don't deserve a leadership role in that government, even a municipal one.

Hey Republicans...
The answer to your rhetorical "question" is that she, that is the Mayor of Hoboken, didn't say anything before because she was rightfully afraid to. It's just that simple.

You jackoffs say the same thing when you tear at each other about why Obama doesn't stand up to the corporations, the CIA, the NSA, the military or whomever is the Boogeyman Of The Week. "He fears for his survival" or that of his family, or some such shit.
Sounds to me like Democrat leadership is chock full of cowards from the bottom to the top. They only speak out when it's "safe" or politically advantageous. What say you?

10. When a bully rules it is very hard to stand up and speak out until he/she is caught in the act.
A "bully"? My God, you are some shrinking violets over there. Always yammering on about a bully this and a bully that. Politics ain't the varsity cheerleading squad. Comes a time when you have to grow up and stop worrying about being stuffed in your gym locker by the Mean Girls. If you want to be in charge of something, nut up and show that you can carry the weight.
Oh hell, who am I kidding? These are the same numbnutz who won't leave the house for fear of mass shooters, and believe every car or small plane crash is the result of a black op.

"He fears for his survival"
In fairness, if you were married to aunt bunnie, you'd be afraid for your life too. :-)

The only thing he ever assaulted was a coffee and cruller.
I always hated those analogy questions.

"I was bullied!"
"OMG! She owns a gun!"
"It was so hurtful I can't go on."
^ Proof that Proglodytes can and should be ruled with an iron fist.
Seriously, can anyone name for me any reason why brave men and women should sacrifice their lives to preserve the freedoms of such a bunch of mewling, self-defeating impotents?

I suppose it has somthing to do with the tactic of closing with the enemy and make it so that air power and artillery can not be brought to bear.
It is unfortunate that they choose to live amongst us, even as they protest against us, but live amongst us they do...so, while they hate us, they remain living in the shadow of our protection.

Hoboken received aid “on par†with other cities
Hoboken received $142,080 in aid which was precisely the same as 39 other communities of similar size. When Zimmer’s spokesman, Juan Melli, was asked about the claims that Hoboken was shortchanged this week, his response seemed strangely different than his boss’s previous tale.
CNN reported that Zimmer had explicitly denied any withheld Sandy funds were the result of any political machinations just one week prior to changing her story for MSNBC. In addition, a Democratic mayor of a different New Jersey town — who, according to Zimmer’s account, was present for one of the extortionary encounters — stated for the record that his recollection does not coincide with hers.

Oh well. So much for that story.

My own POV on that is that they just benefit incidentally from being co-located with a lot of people who are worth defending. Unfortunately our egalitarian voting system allows traitors and leeches the same weight as the worthy, and the better the worthy are at protecting and producing, the more the idle and useless proliferate and dominate. It's a story as old as the decline of Camelot in the Arthurian cycle.
