Title: Lessons for our new squeaky toy: Liberty and Rights
Post by: Big Dog on January 17, 2014, 07:44:35 PM
For the benefit of our highly educated, yet invincibly ignorant DUmmy Alex (Jugs! Daaaaaamn right)...

WHAT IS "LIBERTY"?

"Liberty" is the power to act in accordance with one’s free will, without interference, restrained only by nature, one's own morality or conscience, and the equal rights of one’s fellow men. Liberty is the freedom to fly, and the freedom to fall; accepting the consequences of success or failure.

WHAT IS A "RIGHT"?

"Rights" are specific enumerations of "Liberty". A "right” is a specifically-described moral freedom to act on your own judgment, for your own goals, by your own choice.  Rights require nothing from anyone else, except for them to leave you alone; a right does not create a claim against anyone else's life, liberty, or property.

More to come...

I do.  Really.  I just can't help feeling disappointed after the John Wayne gifs.

The Duke and Maureen enjoyed it very much.

I support big dog in his hopeless quest to educate liberals.
The value I ad is  codifying basic human rights.
Free fun learning is a basic human right, with the emphasis on entertainment, and not so much learning, not to mention the unions.

Well, she went and got herself banned again.

How's she going to learn anything?

Spend ten years in post-secondary school at the taxpayer's expense?

Again!

I can hardly wait for her next doctoral dissertation: "Special orders DO upset us: The emotional impact of individually selected hamburger condiments on historically disenfranchised food workers."

Has about as much value as the one previously written.

Doesn't seem to have worked.  Maybe if she spent a few years amongst us "untouchables" and living in the real world she'd learn a lot more.
