A man in my community may lose his eyesight because of high deductible health insurance.
I just HATE this. Why don't we live in a civilized country? Why do greedy ass ****s get to benefit at the expense of someone's eyesight, or health?

I know this man and his work, he's an brilliant scholar and an all around good person. People in our community are fundraising for him, which is great - but the need to do a fundraiser shouldn't exist in the first place. And he's well known in his community so he's lucky in that his friends will probably raise the money needed. What about people with less community support? They just get to go blind while some assholes line their pockets with geld.

More people not paying for the services they consume at greater frequency will increase the price for those who do pay.

We warned you.

Tell you what DUmmies, go to med school, graduate, open a practice, pay your employees a living wage with benefits, buy all your supplies, pay all the taxes, then go and treat people for free.

Then we'll get a woe-is-me screed on how all the other Doctors they know are 1%ers and they were forced onto welfare because evil corporations stop giving them free ink pens with pharmaceutical logos.

He'd also whine about paying back the student loan, and the low set rates that OBummocare pays for his service.

So, reading through the lines here, this individual has health insurance, but will be required to pay for a large portion of the procedure.   When the procedure was first mentioned did he bother to contact accounts payable at the hospital to inquire about a payment plan or about their charity program for medical care?  Did he explain to his doctor that the cost of the procedure would be prohibitive?  The doctors I work with honestly care about their patients and would at least ask the nurses to look into ways to help the patient pay, or programs that the hospital might have.

Additionally, how high is high deductible.

Additionally, how high is high deductible.

A lot of folks are finding that out right about now.

Additionally, how high is high deductible.

About three to five times more than a pre-Obama Care sub standard policy..... and twice the monthly premium.

Affordable, I don't think that word means what you think it does.
