Thanks so much to everybody in the Lounge and I am so sorry.

Jim, MiddleFingerMom, passed away today. This place and all of you made his life worthwhile the past couple of years. He loved you and he loved being able to bring a smile to your face, or especially a guffaw or spit take. His humor and honesty are the two outstanding traits that bound our friendship. He could be a dick if he disagreed with you, but he was totally honest and never bullshitted anybody. In fact the only fib I ever saw him tell in over 10 years of knowing him, was the one about being immortal. Rest in Peace my friend.

I'm really surprised, though, that the CalPig primitive hasn't weighed in with any condolences.

She's practically at the bedside of the green commode primitive, the WCGreen primitive, who bears a remarkable physical resemblance to this late primitive; they could almost be twins.

Hopefully she's suffering serious complications from her own recent surgery.

But she's been all over Skins's island today, so apparently that surgery wasn't too major.

In fact, she's right now reporting on the green commode primitive.

It's obvious she doesn't care about the MiddleFinger primitive, who competed with her for attention.

It kills me (laughing), how the cousin tries to act as if she and the late red round one were on familiar terms, when the late red round one wasn't late.

And ditto for the pie-and-jam primitive.

Being where I was during the Scamdal, I was in an excellent position to identify the scammers and their allies.

"nadinbrzezinski" and "grasswire" were two names conspicuously absent from a long list of culprits.  They didn't pay any more attention to what was going on than did Atman or Husb2Sparkly (who, to their credit, never alleged to know a damned thing of the late red round one).

To me, it always looked as if two primitives trying to jump on a bandwagon.....long after the bandwagon's w-a-a-a-a-y down the road.

Even nutcase nadin, by far the smartest person ever to inhabit the DUmp, has forgotten the names of all the dead DUmmies.

Without a Dead DUmmy forum, there's no  place to memorialize those DUmbasses who have already slithered off into Hell.

The tributes are piling up--the CalPig primitive finally sent hers--and there's even long-gone primitives who've come back to express theirs.

However, I'm not seeing any from the big guy in Bellevue, the sparkling old dude, Atman, Amber, dear old sweet Lu, :jugs:  :yahoo: &c., &c., &c.

Well, whereas we all know that to God, all are equally important, the least among us as worthy as the most among us, we're fallible humans, compelled to make judgements of character and stature.

Would one consider Aliengirl a PoP, a primitive of prominence, and hence worthy of note in a memorial?

I really don't know; I always kind of considered her one of the faceless lumpenunterprimitiven, not worthy of commemoration any more than the primitives view victims of infanticide.

It was indeed tragic what happened to her, but would she be considered a PoP?

Re Alien Girl, agree.

While it's a source of entertainment and satisfaction whenever any DUmp democrat slithers off to Hell, it's far more enjoyable to read about the demise of DUmmies like Colin or Wileynumbers (who was killed by the CalPig's selfishness).

It's fine that Alien Girl is dead, and her death makes the world a tiny bit better place, but her passing is of no more significance than that of an armadillo unsuccessfully trying to cross a highway.

But not beyond voting "D."

As for Aliengrl, I break the DUmmies down into three groups:  The faceless mass of nonworker bees including count-building moles, those in the middle, and then those who truly stand out for volume, vitriol, or "Quality" of their stupidity who make up the Primitives of Prominence.  I look at her as one of those in the middle...at least when her name came up, it rang a bell and a certain persona construct or visualization would come to mind.

A serious question:

Do you think the Las Vegas Leviathan's leg could be inducted into this list, or is membership restricted only to whole dead primitives?  Here is my case for inclusion:

Primitives tend to die prematurely due to actions and choices they've made through their life.  Had any of these primitive's bodies belonged to someone responsible, their body would still be living, breathing, eating, and otherwise alive.

LVL's leg was removed due to poor choices and actions he has made in life.  Had the aforementioned leg been connected to the body of a decent and civilized person, it would still be running, jumping, frolicking, and otherwise alive.

Subway Cat's breasts
CalPig's Adam's apple
Wee Willie Pitt's liver
Clumps of gNads' hair

While I am disappointed in your decision, I see your point and understand the reasoning behind it.

Our bodies are perhaps the greatest gift given to us, so when the primitives abuse their gift, it makes a nice window into their corrupted minds.

I really think there is potential for added hilariousness to keep track of all of these disfigurements, amputations and other modifications the primitives perform on the most valuable thing given to them. Perhaps just to the point of cataloging all of the associated threads where the primitives mention such things into a "Primitive extreme bodily abuse" thread in the DUmping Ground?

[edit]

I would also add that a thread like that would make a great reference for good and decent people on possible up-and-comers in the DUmmie dead pool.

Consider something like the famous Mutter Museum in Philadelphia.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BCtter_Museum

Exhibits that include DUmmymeat could be displayed in big glass jugs of preservative.

This really irks me, people who claim to be Christians celebrating that certain people are going to hell. I was taught that Jesus wanted people to follow him and not go to hell. I don't recall any instructions to celebrate people going to hell.

To make matters worse a lot of grave dancers will be pissing and moaning that DUmmies are grave dancing over Sharon's death. You are hypocrites.

I'm starting to feel that there are plenty of people here who are the mirror image of the DUmmies.

I'm sorry Frank and GoBucks you are not the nicest people one could know. Nice people don't celebrate the deaths of people they disagree with.

No wonder they paint conservatives as hateful, we give them plenty of paint and even provide the brush and canvas.

Unlike the primitives, decent and civilized people don't need to wear their virtue on their sleeve; there's no compelling need for us to show that we care.  God knows how each of us really feels about things, and God's the only One Who needs to know.

On my part, my sympathy for a primitive goes to the same extent to which the primitive has sympathy towards others; for example, I'd feel the same way about the demise of the defrocked warped primitive or Ms. Ed the unappellated eohippus, as they do about the demise of pre-born infants.

Or the same way about the demise of the mike_c primitive, as he does about the demise of all the victims of Saddam Hussein's genocide.  Or the same way about the demise of any of the cooking and baking primitives, as they do about the hundreds of millions who are starving to death.

How the primitives feel about others is a good guideline to how decent and civilized people should feel about them.

Quote
I have no idea what the MiddleFinger primitive's up to now, as God decides All, not any of us.

My attitude is that it makes no difference, no difference at all, what we here in this time and place think and say--whether we genuinely mourn or laughingly dance on a grave.

The MiddleFinger primitive's gone on to another state of existence beyond our reach, and couldn't care less what we here say or think.  One does him no good lauding him, and no harm trashing him.

Sorry, I just can't help but smile at the thought of a DUmmy in distress, the more, the better.

I'm not the nicest guy by any means. I only aspire to someday move up to second-nicest.

Coach is by far the nicest guy but, come to think of it, he's meaner than a snake.

No it's you who is meaner than a snake.

I wouldn't call it "celebrating;" I'd just call it a sigh of relief that another primitive's out of his misery.

I'd call a lot of the posts in here celebrating.

These people hate us. They hate America and all that has made use great.  In fact, they have spent their lives tearing down all we have built.  A rising tide raises all boats.  A receding tide sucks them all down.

You can certainly occupy the smug centre where you feel you have the moral high ground.

But when people who hate me because I dare to work hard and made good decisions when I was young then I do not mourn their passing.  Each exit makes us better.

You seem to think that Christians have to hew to a higher calling and not recognize when humanity gets better.

Reread "Mere Christianity."  It notes the more subtle and yet direct effects of bad people and how we, as Christians, can and should react to their passing.

The relationship between the primitives and their "God" is a matter for each of them.  Should the merciful God forgive them for their lives full of hate I certainly am not one to second guess Him.

But I suspect He (God) ain't all that happy with that hate stuff.

Interestingly, God and I talked last night.  The upshot:
1) He really loves you Freeper and asked me to mention it next time we chatted online
2) He knows I have no hate in my heart but He does sometimes get irritated with me.  He and Mrs. FD share that...
3) He won';t tell me why the Lakers have had such a bad run but knows exactly why Jerry Jones can't put together a winning team (God says He has asked Al Davis to quit advising Jones in his sleep)

I asked Him about Judgement Day but I just got a God-like smirk...

Meh, unlike DUmmies, I've never claimed to be tolerant, accepting or fair. All of which they are conspicuously not unless you happen to march in lock step with them.

Anyone that's asked me knows I don't tolerate bullshit, I can have strong opinions though I rarely vocalize them outside a small group of friends, and in general despise most of humanity as morons. If being exactly what I admit to being makes me a hypocrite, so be it. I'd call the DUmmies out before me though because they willingly don't practice what they preach.

DUmmies would love nothing more than to take away my rights and my freedom (and a few, my life) solely because I don't agree with them. They call everyone that doesn't follow the party line hater, idiot, racist, sexist or homophobe, among other choice epithets. I won't shed a tear when one kicks off, just as I expect them to do the same to me.

As for the Sharon thing, since I'm sure it'll come up, I don't care about the grave dancing. What I care about is the embracing of the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah. Sworn enemies of our country are who they agree with. I didn't care about the idiots dancing in the street when Thatcher or Reagan died. Shit happens. But if I can lift your words and put them into the mouth of a fundamentalist Muslim, I've got a problem.

In this case, I'll admit I'm biased as both a Jew and a Zionist. Arik was a war hero, a statesman and by all accounts an all around good person. With flaws, yes, but he did what he thought was best at the time. I can't say that about the DUmmies. They would throw the gates open to the likes of Hamas or al Quaeda, hoping their heads got chopped last.

I do agree the world would be better off with certain people gone, I also would think God has a reason for them being here.

I can see dancing on Saddam and Bin Laden's grave, but they caused so much death and destruction, and maybe I'm a hypocrite for thinking that.

I would think Jesus has pity on those who didn't follow him and does not rejoice for their fate.

Probably it'd be a good idea to discuss Death, and why it's irrelevant about what we say, after someone dies.

By the time I was 25 years old, I'd already gone through what people in later middle age are enduring; the deaths of parents and siblings.  By the time I was 40, I was the last one left, out of what had once been a very large family.

First of all, Death comes to us all, sometimes at the most inconvenient time; It comes, and nothing can be done about it.

Second of all, Death happens more by random chance than any other reason; true, if one's pretty old, the likelihood's stronger, or if one's in bad health, the likelihood's stronger.  However, there's plenty of ancient people who live to be even more ancient, and there's plenty of ill people who live longer than healthy people.

Death just happens, and there isn't a damned thing one can do about it, other than remembering a promise of God, that "the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised, and we shall be saved....."

Death doesn't "pick on" us.  I remember many frustrating discussions with a late sister, who whined that the family had been born under an "unlucky star," given its mortality.  She could never understand.  It just happens, and one needs to accept, adapt, and move on.  I never considered my family particularly ill-blessed, onslaughted by tragedy; in fact, I rather considered destiny had treated all of us well, thank you.

Death separates from this time and place; we, the temporarily living, have no idea what it's like in Eternal Life, because finite minds cannot comprehend the Infinite, i.e., God and Eternity.  We have no idea, absolutely no idea, what those who've gone before us now know.  All we know is that God is powerful, glorious, majestic, and compassionate, and disposes of things the way they need disposed.

Whatever it is Hell is, and we have no way of knowing, and who's going there and who's not, is outside the realm of our understanding and experience.  None of us can say who's saved and who's not; that's something that's known only between God and the individual.

- - - - - - - - - -

And so we come to this issue, talking about the dead, either respectfully or unrespectfully.

No matter what good one says about the dead, it doesn't do the dead any good.

No matter what bad one says about the dead, it doesn't harm the dead in the least little way.

Your post brings up interesting points.

* Dead people cannot be libeled.
* My folks are also all gone -- I have my siblings still with me
* If you love or even like your family do NOT die testate!  Keep track of your finances and let them know so the #3 son doesn't have to spend hundreds of hour figuring everything out, including Life Insurance from the 1960s
* My FIL is 93 and my MIL is 85 -- someday I know they will leave this mortal coil.  It gives me a stomachache to acknowledge it.
* Mrs FD and I both agree on our Final Orders: Take no special efforts if our bodies can't keep us alive.
* My brother OTOH has made me his Executor and has made it clear to keep him alive no matter what (nihilism?)
* I had surgery a few months ago. Being put under was a "little death."  I envied my other brother who is 100% sure he will be with Jesus. I am 99.52% sure but I am frankly a little terrified.  It is like my fear of heights but only 1000% more.  NBD :)

I wish I could speak as eloquently as you Frank -- you grab the issue by the shoulders.  The best I can do is bullet points.  I hope they are helfpul for some.   Please review the 3rd point. It is super important.

I don't rejoice in the death of a DUmmy, but neither do I shy away from the comedic potential presented by a DUmmy's death.

DUmpmonkeys serve two purposes for me:

1. Intel. "Know your enemy, and know yourself, and you will never be imperiled in a hundred battles", as Sun Tzu said.

2. Entertainment. DU is like the bastard child of The Jerry Springer Show and Ow, My Balls  I love their pain; their howls of impotent rage and bitter tears nourish me.

DUmmies don't grow on trees, although by all appearances they fell out of trees onto their heads, and the new crop of DUmmies is clearly inferior to the first iteration. Skins just ain't makin' 'em like he used to. If the most entertaining DUmmies die, then we'll be left with a crop of boring third-rate shitweasels.

And nobody wants that.

Oh, not to worry; I've had a last will ever since about six months after my younger brother died (he was 17, I was 19).  I remember when I had it drawn up; most thought I was being morbid or depressed or had some premonition of my own death, and were concerned about it.

Well, that was a very long time ago--so long ago that I had to revise it one time--and guess what.

I'm still here, and hope to be here for a long time yet.

I don't think there's anything morbid about making a will; it's just common sense, and saves others a lot of time and trouble down the road.

I think it's a rather admirable will, by the way; after getting instructions from an attorney, I wrote it myself (and it passed muster); one paragraph regarding an executor and disposal of property, and twenty-two following paragraphs describing the mortality of man and the Immortality of God (i.e., what I know, what I believe).

Being 20 years old at the time, and not an especially original person, I borrowed heavily from the will of Richard II of England (circa 1394), in which he disposed of his whole kingdom in a single sentence, and then spent miles of parchment (it's a very long document) describing the smallness of man and the Greatness of God.

The DUmpmonkeys can serve an important purpose for people with young children: object lessons, particularly of the lesson "actions have consequences".

As perfect examples,  I present Doug Bulna, Steve Dawes, and Kirk the Las Vegas Leviathan. Each, in his own way, can serve as an example to the youth of today.

You're way too noble.

I think the primitives provide as much utility as a cockroach or an intestinal parasite.

I've never been happy or giddy or anything when one's passed, but I will admit to a great Sigh of Relief; this problem's done and over with.

I had to go back and read that post; I hadn't previously noticed he'd had a leg amputated.

<<<sometimes skips over things when reading.

No, the leg can't be included; only entities with an Immortal Soul should be included, which I guess means the whole primitive, not just part of the primitive.

I shuddered when I read about that, them taking off one of his legs.

As did I. That's a harsh consequence and I do hope perhaps it is the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. As I told him though, God obviously has a purpose for him since he is still here albeit with one leg less. That should be taken as both a wake up call and a gentle sign that there is hope and purpose for him.

I saw the requests to Skinner, in Ask Admin. group, about temp re-naming Lounge.

I am wondering..perhaps another way to express our feelings ...if the hosts put up a sticky post, the one Kali wrote annoucing his passing, with links in it to the several other large posts about him.
I dunno if additional comments can be made to sticky posts, or if they are needed.
But, if the Lounge did that, than everyone entering would see the post and can read it.

Whatcha think, Lounge?
