Title: DUmmy (with a job) receives leather coat that should have gone to Good Will.

OMG Just got a leather coat!
Co-worker came in w/ a coat that her mother was going to give to Good Will. She had told her mom it was too nice to give to Good Will and that she'd bring it in to work to see if it would fit anyone here. I'm always the first one in, and IT FITS!
I've never had a leather coat and always wanted one.
I guess sometimes it pays to be the first one in the office.

One would think that a benevolent DUmmy would have mentioned giving money to Good Will for the potential sale they lost, or giving the coat to a homeless person living in a Buick, but no, it's a leather coat and she always wanted one, and it fits.

And now the rest of the story.  It doesn't really fit, but she always wanted one.  Never mind Good Will or the homeless person with no coat.  She always wanted one, and it fits, almost.

6. Yeah, usually pricey
at least more expensive than I've been able to pay.
This one is a tad big, but I often dress in layers, so it will be nice that I can fit a sweater or two under it (I'm wearing a tank top and 3 sweaters today!).
No sympathy at all for the homeless person who not only doesn't have the leather coat, but has to suffer the cold without a sweater while this DUmmy is wandering around with several of them.

DUmmies are so phony.  And if I were a DU poster, it would have been "DUmmies are so faux."

2. Cool

When I was living in China I had a nice coat made for myself. It is always so nice when you have something like that, especially when you want to dress up.
No doubt you paid the maker of the coat the same wage you would have paid a unionized person in the states. You might be considered an exploiter of the working class if you didn't.  :fuelfire:

For want of a warm coat.....a homeless person was lost.

For want of a homeless person.....5 democrat votes were lost.

For want of 5 votes.....an election was lost.

For want of an election.....a senate seat was lost.

For want of a senate seat.....a majority was lost.

For want of a majority..... "MY" government freebies were lost.

For want of "MY" government freebies.....more votes were lost.......for the love of GOD GIVE BACK THE DAMN COAT.[DU/mode]

I don't like this "too nice to give to Goodwill" bit.

It reeks of aristocratic disdain for the unfortunate.

It also suggests one should donate only junk, garbage, trash, to Goodwill.

I've known a few people that literally buy a new wardrobe every season and everything they currently own goes to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Not fancy clothes, just the kind of jeans, blouses and dresses and whatever bought at mall stores or department stores.

I love JohnnyReb's "for want of a" riff.

But as to the coat. Does anyone but me suspect that the new owner of the coat came by it by more nefarious means ? Let's say something like left in a changing room, put in the lost and found, and subsequently claimed in a process slightly elevated from dumpster diving ?
Then there are the veg/vegan/peta considerations.

More of the compassion the left self claims they all have.

A lurking DUmmy will read this and bring up her greed as if it's their idea.

Just wait.

More likely that the co-worker wore the coat to work on a cool morning then forgot to wear it home when the day turned warmer.  The DUmmie seeing her leave without the leather jacket made an effort to get to work early the next day when no one else was there and took the jacket and hid it in her car trunk.

How many Nauga's were ruthlessly slaughtered to provide the hides for that coat?  :???: :???:

Peetah will be all over that.

Yeah considering their panties get bunched up when we gripe about food stamp people buying steak and lobster and they say the poor are deserving of such luxuries, it's a pretty bad thing for them to say a coat is too nice for the poor.

Maybe, but I don't know anyone who would give a leather coat or anything else to Goodwill if they had a friend or relative who wanted it.

DUmmies truly relish their "Free Stuff." Something for nothing.

I'm betting it ends up on Ebay/Craigs list.

A little 5 finger discount for the lib ?
I am a big proponent of libs cutting out the middleman on their wealth distribution.
Step one, move in or occupy property next to your target evil rich person.
Step two, just help yourself to anything your new next door neighbor has.
Step three justify your taking of your new neighbor's stuff because they have more than you do.
Step four, repeat the process until you and your new neighbor have equal amounts of stuff, or get caught red handed during your midnight requisition trips, and facing the long end of s short gun.

The bolded should be Step 2b.

Now, now Skul, I have raised Nauga's for years and they make great pets.  No feeding them or cleaning up after them and they stay put waiting for you to come home after work. Depending on how they are cared for their life span could be 50 years or more.

The only thing good about them is they always smell like a new car.
