Hi, First time posting in the group...
Some might know I suffer from PTSD. Well I have been looking into some new things for it. I was wondering if anyone know some first hand stuff about some new treatments they are doing with ultrasound??
My Care provider says it could very well help with the depression and make dealing with the issues that caused my PTSD easier. Just wondered if anyone else knows any more about it.

1. It must be a new treatment

I went to Google to see what I could find. If I were more capable I'd give you a conclusion about what I just read. It was interesting but I'm not sure I understand all of the brain stimulation up and down. Let me know what you get out of the article and I'll talk about it with you.

2. Howdy
I think the door has been opened to new mental health treatments. I'm on some experimental drug (along with 3 others). I think it's a good thing, other than the cost. The experimental drug isn't covered by insurance.
I've never read/heard anything about ultrasound. If your Care provider likes it, then I say go for it. At least it isn't chemically altering your brain.
Good luck. Be well.
Wow, only four drugs? The postatomic primitive is a real loony bin lightweight.

3. Afraid I've never heard of it. A quick google brings up only this patent...

It's a form of deep brain stimulation from reading a bit of that. Deep brain stimulation for depression and other emotional issues has been studied and I believe there good evidence it works in many. You might want to look that up. I'm afraid I know nothing about this specific form of it though.
Since LocoNuts is posting in the loony bin, it can only mean his Santa's Sock vibrator he got for Christmas finally died.

4. Actually I heard that Ecstasy is good for PTSD
They're even doing a study in South Carolina.

Yes! More drugs to fix your imaginary problem! That can only mean more hilarity for us here in the DUmpster.

Sounds like it's the new electro-shock treatment for the inmates at the asylum.

What a disgusting pos..
PTSD from a tornado who didn't even affect her personally...
Our soldiers go to war and majority comeback and manage to deal with life just fine.
This leach is really getting on my nerves.. grrrr :censored:

Utrasound schmultrasound, Amber needs to try the newest microwave therapy.
She just needs to disable the safety switch, shove her head in there and go for it.

Actually, there's a really effective treatment for PTSD and depression called EMDR that's worked really well for soldiers. My therapist uses either a long row of lights that goes back and forth or a thing you hold in your hands that buzzes back and forth. I don't like the hand one. Of course, since it does work, one has to really want to get better instead of wallowing in drugs and pity.

Whatever happened to the old tried and true "take two bong hits and call me in the morning"?

I prefer giving the 'old-school' electro-shock treatment . . . :zap: :tazeme:

Reminds me of a joke about how many psychiatrists it takes to change a light bulb
One, but the bulb really has to want to change.

My very first thought.....do you have a patent yet?

About that Ecstasy study in S.C......this explains the uptick in traffic on I-95 and I-26.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have You Served in the U.S. Military, or with a Police or Fire Department, and Have Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)?
We are seeking men and women, at least 18 years old, diagnosed with PTSD from experiences that occurred while serving in the military, as a firefighter or police officer. You must be in good physical health, with blood pressure that is normal or kept normal by taking medication.
We're conducting a research study of an investigational drug used in combination with psychotherapy. The study takes place in Charleston, South Carolina. For participants from out of town, all travel expenses, food and lodging will be paid for.
For more information, please call (843) 849-6899.

I would venture to guess that experimental drugs are free; hence, experimental.

I worked at some less-than-skilled jobs after high school in the early 90s and met a few people who had volunteered to be human lab rats in the 70s and 80s.
The results were... interesting.

Microwaves are too big to penetrate the LFR brain. Better come up with a Picowave or Femtowave to make sure her skull innards are not bypassed.

Shades of 'Infinite Jest'.
In the book, the father commits suicide by rigging the family microwave to run with the door open, packs the inside with aluminum foil, sticks his head inside and turns it on.

I notice that she refers to "my care provider" rather than doctor or psychiatrist or whatever...I wonder what level of quackery she's dealing with here.

In other words, don't be surprised when the taxpayers of Tucson give Amber a pair of Beats.

So the internet site with the most crazy people on it has a specific forum for crazy. My question is how does one tell the difference?

H5. Subtle but, it cracked me up.

So. How does a homeless person qualify for experimental therapy?
IF this is true, and with Amber that is a big IF. If true, then i can only assume Amber is in a mental institution right now.
