Title: Proglodytes discuss guaranteed loafing

Guaranteed work?

What do you think that means. I can understand living wage and I am glad the president is going to make income inequality a focal point this year but I'm curious as to what is meant by "guaranteed work" that is mentioned by some people. Not all people who are currently unemployed or are able bodied want to work. I am not saying that as a negative thing, not in the way it's usually used. "Guaranteed work" makes me think that it is believed that we all want to work and we just need jobs.

1. not sure what you are asking, do you mean that people should have a wage even if they dont

want to do anything for the wage.

3. i was wondering that myself

read a certain way, it could be a proposal to lower the retirement age to zero.

Funny you should mention that...

Guaranteed work sounds just like Obamacare.  Obama decides where you'll work, and you will, whether you like it or not.

You DUmmies should all read "The Road To Serfdom".

First comes guaranteed work, then comes forced labor.  All part of the communist way of life.

OTOH, I believe able bodied welfare recipients should be doing something for their share of the money that I work for.  Scrape gum off sidewalks, pick up cigarette butts and other trash, stand around and open doors for people that are working real jobs.  I don't care but do something with your non-productive mooching asses.

The most common work that needs to be done is cleaning shit.

If you're one of those clowns that will roll over for a "guaranteed income", don't complain when you find yourself picking up jars of piss from the side of the interstate and cleaning poo from public toilets in return.

As Goodyear winds down operations and the plant almost idle, French labor law requires the company to keep all workers employed, which means many of them don't work more than a couple of hours a day while still getting full salary.

Income inequality happens when one person busts his ass and works his way up the company ladder, meanwhile a DUmmy sits on his ass constantly bitching about the success of the hard worker.

Now we have a president that thinks the slacker deserves the same benefits of the hard worker. What could possibly go wrong with that plan?

Sounds like the UAW.

Yep.  UAW members went to work and stayed in the break room while being paid.

That's because he's a slacker, too. He's never had to work hard for anything. Even now, he's not running the country. Like most leftist males, women have his nuts in a lock box. The First Wookie has one and Val, the slum lord, keeps the other. 0bama plays golf, campaigns and makes pretty speeches. How can he possibly understand hard work when he has no concept of what it is?

Not a lot of responses (ending 11 hours ago), and no recs.  Personally, I think that's because it hits a little too close to home as to what Thundley said.  Forced labor?   :panic:

But DUmmies, don't you recall Michelle Antoinette saying "Barack will require you to work."  It was in 2008.

Wasn't the other one 2-4-5-T?  That seems familiar to me.

I cannot remember who I heard it from but it was a comment on the old Soviet style of a guaranteed job:

They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work.

I've heard that one...it's a pretty concise and accurate statement of how the Soviet system actually worked at the nuts and bolts level.

The unemployment level was so low when GW was President that those described above fell into this category.

Here in red state hell, during the height of the Great Bush Prosperity the unemployment rate was actually less than two percent.

All in Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis.
