I'm in a pretty bad mood this weekend
I needed some parts for a project I'd hoped to work on this weekend. Ordered things last Tuesday, second day delivery.

The USPS came through - the stuff they handled all showed up Thursday.

UPS? Not so much. Not Thursday. Not Friday. Not today. Bupkes. So I can't do my project.

Apparently, the USPS union thugs have found a way to kneecap snow and ice, and get my stuff to me.

I always use USPS when I have a choice - cheaper and more reliable. Oh, and somehow they're able to do that while treating workers fairly.

UPS is union misfit.   Did the company actually ship the item?   Are you tracking it?

11. Sorry to hear this

I actually never have any problems with FEDEX, UPS, or the post office. I think they all do a great job. UPS does a great job especially with Amazon in my experience.

3. I sent two late gift cards and they both were supposed to arrive

at the same time delivered by UPS, so far one got there, while the other one is still "in transit". And this with suppsodely guaranteed two day shipping. When I go to the UPS site with the tracking, all it says is the shipment is being prepared, like they haven't updated it at all.

That means the shipment hasn't left the seller yet.  They can all produce a UPS number.  It isn't in transit until they drop it off to UPS or ask them to pick it up.   Morons.

Yeah I agree with you lurker...morons! Do they not know what those status updates mean..dumbasses..technically they could still cancel the order in that status since it hasn't even left the retailer :banghead: :banghead: :thatsright: :thatsright:

It wasn't angry, it made sense, and it was grammatical...must be a mole.  Try harder, guys!

What a bunch of whiners.

You primitives will be allowed to complain when you get a package status of "train derailment", like I have before.

Ha ha ha... good job. :-)

I don't think they call it that any longer.  At least FedEx labels it 'Delivery Exception'.

I've never seen many problems with FedEx material coming into here.  The worst from them was a next day air package coming out of Memphis that somehow got put on a plane to Denver, and then Saint Louis, back to Denver, over to Saint Louis again, then Dallas, and finally here.  The FedEx rep we dealt with was pulling her hair out, for sure.

I had something similar happen last year to a package being shipped by UPS.  It became a joke, all the places it went to, like the lawn gnome that was stolen and showed up in pictures all over the world.

I think that is the name of every thread there.

An interesting fact I heard from our FedEx Express driver is that an average air packaged is handled 23 times before it makes it to its destination.

That's a lot of opportunity for an error.  I still find it amazing how small the actual error rate is.

I expect his mood has worsened.  The whole point of the post (bouncie) was to show how superior USPS (union) was to all others (not union).  Then the threads on both DU and CC wandered off into the ether.

Bingo.

Someone finally caught on to the purpose of the DUmp thread.

Link?  I was going to go post a USPS screed on DU, but couldn't find the thread.

UPS is union, too.

Dunno about Fedex.  I don't think they are, since the drivers basically "own" their routes.

Just for amusement lets pretend that the thread has truth to it.
What are the variables?

Was shipping ground or next day for all packages?
What was the point of origin and what were the hubs/airports used?

One gets the idea that DUmbasses think a package leaves them and is teleported to the delivery vehicle.
The logistics are much more complicated.

Sometimes my parts I ordered seemed to get "Lost in Space"....or were shipped with a cloaking device....and they're still out there somewhere.

It is like they think that their package is so special that it should be free from any possible weather delays.

When Google starts using drones to deliver packages will those be unionized or non-union drones?

I like the way they sometimes have to do things at work on the weekends. We have had to have some stuff driven by private courier.

Nothing like seeing a a small part costing less than $20 cost $200 for to be driven here from Ohio.

Here's one for you--when I was working in the lab, we had a contract with Airborne Express to deliver rush samples.  We called them 'Stillborn Express' because of the time involved.  We had a sample collector take samples from a site maybe 70 miles away and bring them to their District Office, then call Airborne.  Airborne picked the samples up, brought them to a big airport (Syracuse, IIRC) and sent them to a receiving center in Ohio.  They waited there for a couple of hours, then were put on a plane back to Albany, taken off the plane, through their receiving system, and to us--the next morning.  In the time it took for them to wend their way through the bowels of Airborne Express' system, if the sample collector had just brought them to the lab and given them to us, we could have had the data done by the time the damned things showed up at the receiving dock.  (Said sample collector actually did drive the next set of rush samples in, and we had all of the data back to him in about 24 hours.)

BTW, for lurkers from the DUmp, UPS is represented by the Teamsters . . .

Here in the south, we'll call them "target clays".

Don't think for one minute there won't be a redneck with a shotgun shooting at those damned things.

It's Amazon that proposed the drones, but it will never happen and in my educational estimation it was just ploy commercial to boost holiday sales as it came out a few days before Black Friday.

And yes this thread was a half hearted bouncy to take a jab at the non-unionized shippers.  Which for some reason the OP doesn't show up below in the Topic summary but it is apparent by the "treating workers fairly" quote at the end of his rant.

Which as stated UPS is unionized and Fed-Ex isn't.

yo dumbasses, the best way to do this is order the stuff, and just start your project when it gets there. It's not like you people have jobs or anything
