Oh my.

By the way, this was in the news.....a very long time ago.

Why are the primitives always so far behind?

KTLK 1150 Los Angeles gone?

I listen to 1150 AM (KTLK) often.

I turned it on this afternoon, and they had some conservatives screaming about Benghazi, and then said Sean Hannity is up next, followed by a negative Nancy Pelosi ad. What gives?

2. Same thing happened to KNEW 960 effective today

They started out as a progressive station a few years ago, then dumped Malloy, Goldman, Hartmann, Steph Miller, Rhodes in favor of Rush, Hannity & Co. And this is in the SF Bay area.

Their new web banner has a big American flag with a caption "The Patriot AM 960 - The best in conservative talk"

I've listened to them for years, but never again. Yecch.

3. The I Heart Radio app can get you 880 the Revolution

From Asheville, NC. I just changed my favorites from KNEW to that.

Otherwise, you can go to this link:

And stream all of our great liberal voices.

"The Patriot"--my flabby ole lady ass! Like wing nut jingoistic would know patriotism if it bit 'em.

4. The new motto for the station is...

The Patriot - True American Values

seriously. True American Values.

That makes our values what?

UnAmerican values, I assume.  It should be obvious.

5. Maybe I'm being paranoid...

but I can't help but think Clear Channel has a clear agenda with these changes.

I heard they did this in several states (another was mentioned above), and I've come to find that several of the changes are similar to what happened in Los Angeles: replacing the liberal stations with right wing stations.

We need to break up Clear Channel.

Then again, I'm probably one of the few people who still turn on AM radio when in the car.

...but not after today.

Want to know how the right-wing astroturf machine works? Want to see how they use power and money to drown out the voice of the people? Want to see the motivations behind the Koch Brothers' hit man in California?

Well then, meet David Spady, "California State Director of Americans for Prosperity," the wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Brothers, Inc.

The teabagger plan is to acquire enough media, news agencies and radio, to bombard the airwaves and internet with as much Reich Wing propaganda as possible for the 2014 and 2016 elections. They did that in my state in the Walker Recall election, they outspent democrats by about 10:1.

Too bad for the primitives.

100% bullshit, Mr. DNC® Operative.  Face it, dickhead, unlike state apparatus  NPR, radio stations have to show a profit.

Ever heard of that?

LIBERAL COMMERCIAL TALK RADIO DISAPPEARS IN NY, LA, SF IN 2014

2014 will mark the beginning of a massive change for liberal talk radio across the country. In New York, WWRL 1600 AM will flip to Spanish-language music and talk, throwing Ed Schultz, Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, and Alan Colmes off the air. In Los Angeles, KTLK 1150 will be dumping Stephanie Miller, Rhodes, Bill Press and David Cruz off the air in favor of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. In San Francisco, KNEW 960 will leave Miller, Hartmann, and Mike Malloy without a radio home in the market.

Indeed they do.

Their agenda is to make money. They are a business. Progressive radio advertises to a group, that as a whole, doesn't spend money in significant amounts unless its someone elses. Plus theres the fact that radio intended for a group of listeners who can be accurately identified as the lunatic fringe (progressive radio) by definition, can not have a large number of listeners.

Look in the mirror. You know its all true. Own it.

Conservatives on the other hand, actually support the folks they listen to by doing business with many of those who advertise on conservative radio. Conservatives are in the mainstream. You'll see in 2014.

Remember Air America and how that was going to deliver Victory to Kerry in 2004?

Remember how Air America management stole money from a children's charity to fund it's operations?

Progressivism simply isn't popular. When you you DUmmies get it? You guys don't even listen to your awful radio shows.

You say you do but you know you don't.

I live near Asheville. This area has more than its fair share of kooks, but they tend to keep to themselves. Most people here are normal and don't really put up with the freaks trying any of their nonsense outside their enclaves.

Some of the moves were simply Clear Channel moving the star of their Premiere Radio syndication service to their own stations. They reserve the right in their contracts to move Rush to a CC station if a CC station operator so chooses. When I was a Program Director for Clear Channel We did that to a local talk station that had broadcast rush since his first day as a national host. As CMD said this is about money and profit. Rush brings that to any station he's on. The other three combined don't bring in a tenth of the ad revenue Rush does.
