Oh my.
A new comment in the deaf and hard-of-hearing forum.
The first one in.....months and months.
<<<suspects the primitives dislike the deaf and hard-of-hearing; they treat us like lepers.

I am severely hearing-impaired. I wear high-end hearing aids when I interact with other people, watch TV (even with closed captioning), or go to a movie, but I never wear them unless I am doing something that requires me to hear. (I enjoy the peace and quiet, and I hate to have aids in all the time because they are physically annoying.)
I have a landline in my living room, and that is the only phone jack I have in the apartment.
I cannot hear my phone ring unless I am right next to it, but I am busy, so I cannot spend all my time hanging around right by my phone. I miss sooooo many calls!
Do any of you know of an alerter--flashing lights or loud ringing or, preferably, both--that I could have in the other rooms of the apartment to let me know when the phone is ringing? It would need to be something that would not require being hooked into the phone jack, since I would need for it to be in the other room where I can see/hear it when I am not in the living room.
I would, if necessary, go as high as about $100, but I would very much prefer to stay under $100--as far under it as possible!
I am hoping that maybe there is some sort of device that would use bluetooth or that could be hooked to a regular wall outlet without having to be attached to the landline phone/phone outlet, which wouldn't solve the problem, since I would still not hear or see it from the other rooms.
BTW, my deaf/HoH site:
I'm Listening as Hard as I Can!

No primitives showed up at this campfire to comment; as I said, the primitives loathe and detest the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
<<<knows from experience.

There's a story behind this.
The tblue37 primitive is one of the very few primitives who ever paid attention to franksolich, although when she originally contacted me (this was years ago), she thought I was poor stupid Beth.
Being a nice guy, I immediately set her straight, although I don't think she realized who "franksolich" was, or is.
We had a pleasant exchange of e-mails, light stuff (and so no primitive needs be leery of her).
Unlike the whiny "Hepburn" primitive, the Audrey primitive, for whom Skippy was so fulsome in praise of her silly complaint, the tblue primitive knows what a hard row deaf and hard-of-hearing femmes have to toe; she's the real thing, and I suggest one check out her web-site.

<<<hopes didn't ruin her credibility, her standing, with her fellow primitives.

This by the way was the Audrey primitive's infantile thread.
Skippy was so nauseatingly condescending I didn't bother quoting him; he made me want to puke.

Goodness. The fellow could search on ebay, as I just did, and find multiple phone alerts that use lights for much less than $100.
A friend had a couple at her house. Placed so that they could be seen, or catch your attention almost everywhere in the house.

Nearly every time a DUmpmonkey asks a question, which is many times a day, the answer is just a quick ten-second nadin away.
We don't call them DUmmies for nothing and despite being coach's bud this one is, after all, still a DUmmy.

Maybe, he could get a hearing aide service dog. The dog could bite him in the leg when the phone rings.... :-)

I checked with Velvet. She agrees with you.
She'd happily bite a DUmmy.
