REMINDER AND UPDATE: Five hidden posts and you can't post
Back in September, we announced some changes to the way the site is run. In that announcement, we promised that we would make the following change, after a 90-day period:
If you have five hidden posts on your account you will be unable to post.
... If you have five hidden posts showing on your Transparency page (a 90-day period), then you will be temporarily unable to post. In order to regain your ability to post, you will need to wait until the oldest post of the five is more than 90 days old and "falls off" of your record. At that point you will only have four posts showing on your Transparency page, and you will regain your ability to post.
Due to a fluke of scheduling, that new policy was supposed to go into effect on December 25, Christmas Day. However, because the DU Administrators do not wish to spend our holiday break fixing the inevitable bugs, we have decided to push back the launch date.
The new launch date is Monday January 6, 2014.
Members whose transparency pages are showing will be restricted in the following ways: 1) they can't post, 2) they can't serve on juries, 3) they can't serve as hosts in forums or groups, and 4) they can't serve on the Malicious Intruder Removal Team. If they are currently assigned as a host or as a MIRT member, they will be removed by the software.
Members whose transparency pages are showing will not be restricted in any other ways. They will be able to send and receive DU Mail. They will be able to recommend threads. They will even be able to send alerts (this is so people can't insult people who are temporarily blocked).
Thank you for being a part of DU. And have a happy holiday season!
The DU Administrators

there is actual repercussions with a hide. this morning alone i have had different duers send me three alert results, for three posts. that is just this morning. the last couple days i am having duers all around send me alert results.
how hard do you think it is going to be to find four jurors that do not like me? not cause i am uncivil. or name calling. but simply for the fact they do not like what i say. you are behind the scenes. you can see if there is a concerted effort to get particular duers kicked off du. i hope you take this into consideration.
I think the moles are perhaps being a little too hard on our friend seabeyond.

As usual, it appears my fellow alum didn't think this all the way through.
He thought it to a desired conclusion, and then quit thinking.
This is gonna be a gold mine, a Comstock Lode, of merriment.

Nads must be concerned.

OMG! Other than moling, why would anyone want to be on Skin's Island? I mean, it is his Island and he has every right to torture those who inhabit it in any way he wishes, but who would want to even visit there except to laugh at the PrimDU monkeys?

At this rate, there will be no DUers posting since we all know they are going to use that against one another to shut each other out since they hate people disagreeing with them. Damn it, Skinner--you are going to ruin the Dumpster you fun governor! :panic: :panic: :censored: :censored:

Seabeyond is done for 90 days come launch date. This may place a serious damper on our fun here, and the misfits could use this system to manipulate the chances for clear frontrunners of the DOTY awards.
Then again, with the predictable frontrunners gone it will give a chance for the wallflowers to shine.
This could be enjoyable.

A little trip to clues R us ditz...that is what he intends to happen and you are too stupid to realize it. :rotf:

Should we start a poll of who goes down first (well seabeyond is first with 6 logged already - so second?)? We will need to track their exile in some way. Oh goodness the fun we will have.
-
What is that other site of disgruntled misfits? Old Elm Tree?
New posters heading your way. I wish they would come here instead. Perhaps if we held an open house of some sort?

2. Holy crap
that flashed across the page and I read it like I had just been banned from posting. Warnings are wonderful as long as they don't give rise to fear.
Oh be afraid sweetie. Be very afraid.

No, she will only be gone until her oldest hidden post is more than ninety days old.
Since she has six, she will need for two of them to age out.
DUmmies will be allowed to post if their "Transparency Page", which covers the past ninety days, shows four or fewer hidden posts.
Banning could be for as little as a single day.
-
They will even be able to send alerts (this is so people can't insult people who are temporarily blocked).
There will be blood. People that have their posting privileges blocked will alert on posts to get their enemies blocked.

Probably the old shrew seabeyond should sit back and contemplate something; contemplate how she hounded and harrassed Atman nearly off of Skins's island.
And then contemplate about how what goes around, comes around.

Not if our moles do their jobs correctly.

Certainly has a Lord of the Flies feel to it.
-
I hope this rule isn't the reason nadin has been less authoritative lately.
Without her guidance the DUmp is a far shittier place.
-
Woohoo!!!! My moles are gonna have some fun in the new year!!!!!
This is gonna either be good or skinner is gonna have to walk back on it when his cash cow devolves into anarchy and nobody can post.
I do wonder though... do folks that donate gonna get some leeway? Especially if they donate a large amount?*
*Large amount means 10 bucks or more

I was really looking forward to this extra Christmas present from Skins. Well, as the saying goes, 'better late than never'.
I wonder how long it will be before the entirety of active primitives are (temporarily) banned ? Because there will be vengeance alerts made on behalf of DUmmies put into time out.
And that will generate more vengeance. :yahoo:

Not like they haven't registered before, nor is there a ban on them posting.

I know, won't it be fun?

You said 'hard on' and 'seabeyond' in the same sentence...not only two wildly incompatible things, but it probably also put you on her 'Potential rapist' list.

Transparency page not displayed
My Transparency page is not displayed because I have had fewer than five posts hidden by Jury in the last 90 days. Show me my Transparency page.
My mole account is good to go.

I wonder if this might not be an elaborate mole trap on Skinner's part.
Think about it: DUmmies being who and what they are - a representative sampling of the Democrat Party as a whole - are a collection of disperate, often opposing and contradictory factions, united solely by their desire for power far beyond their own capabilities alone. They vote in lockstep, because that's what their political masters demand of them, but behind the scenes, the internecine battles go on with varying degrees of heat, depending on who is trying to play which group off of that faction for what objective.
Most Democrats/DUmmies would just as soon stab another Democrat in the back as an eee-vil fundie rethuglikkkan.
I sincerely believe, that within two months - three, at the absolute outside - the MOLES will be the only DU members capable of posting on a daily basis. The real DUmbasses can't help themselves; it's as much a part of their make-up as hypocrisy.
-
If we decide to have an open house, my wife makes great chocolate chip cookies.
-
One point is very clear.
Up until now, moles on juries always voted to leave offensive posts alone so as to make the DUmp as embarrassing to the democrat party as possible.
Skimmer's new rule makes it mandatory that moles vote to hide every alerted post.
More hidden posts mean more banned, enraged DUmmies, more friction, more hatred, and more entertainment.
-

69. Should be over a certain time period and how many posts you have. I have 2 I think but that is over 10 years and a few thousand posts.
Just a suggestion.
The 90 day period is right there in the announcement DUmmy, and as for 'how many posts' you have, some people have real lives and/or don't play in DUmmyland on the company computer while at work.

It might have to be done concerning the outrageousness of the alert. If it's incredibly offensive and makes them look bad, let it be. A perfect balance of stupidity and anger must be achieved to really make the dump glow.

If Obama can push back the dates in Obamacare, surely Skinner can push back the dates(or anything) in DU.
-
Skinner really did not think this through. Does he have any idea how vindictive and nasty his subjects are?

I think having the alerts diluted by how many posts you have is a brilliant idea.
Imagine a primitive getting an alert, and then scrambling through post after incomprehensible post to get their average back up again.

I read DUhockeymom's suggestion as 'higher post count gets lower punishment'.
They complain about white people getting special treatment, 1% getting special treatment, and so on. They don't seem to mind groups they like being favored however - alphabet people (GBLTAEIOU), high post count members, undocumented workers, etc.
