Reminds me of my senior year in high school when I drove a school bus. I would be going down a long hill, switch the engine off, leave bus in gear and clutch out, pull choke out and coast for a while.....then switch engine back on for a very loud backfire....right along side a car we were meeting. Oh those were the fun filled days of backfires and sonic booms. DUmmies would not survive those days now.

I was thinking maybe Bill Ayers was guest lecturing there today and brought along some props.

Meh, I live nearby. Went off to the morning job with no problem, but when I came home for lunch noticed that something wasn't quite right They've only locked down the main campus and a few public transportation options nearby. They subway is running but a couple bus lines have been diverted. Whatever this is, at least the sense I get from talking to a few people on my way home, is that it's probably a big misunderstanding but who can take chances these days?
It's certainly nowhere near as exciting as when we closed Boston, Cambridge, Watertown, Somerville, and similar points for marathon bombers but we could really use a whole lot less of this in our lives.
ETA: If you have a moment, say a prayer for the first responders out here. It's colder than hell, windy, and thanks to the snow and rain over the weekend, incredibly icy and slippery. It's hazardous just walking to the corner store, I can't imagine those poor men and women standing out in this mess all morning. It'll be amazing if there aren't a least a couple sprained ankles by the time this is over.

Finals week. Somebody, probably a Kennedy spawn, didn't prepare.
