Title: Then I says, "You can't leave yet, we haven't discussed Obamacare."

Belly laughs all around and then the cursing and spitting started. I just hope they will let me come to the Christmas dinner.

Hey, Moochelle said it was my civic duty to bring it up....so I did. Did you do your civic duty today?

Anybody under age 50 actually speak up for it?

I did.

At our Thanksgiving gathering, a young man with wife and new baby were sitting across the table from Red and me. There was some back-and-forth talk about Obamacare between the tables (none of it favorable to King Hussein). I was watching (like listening, for those of us who have trouble hearing), but not talking. I knew what I wanted to say, but I wasn't inclined to jump into someone else's discussion. I am no DUmpmonkey.

The young wife asked me, "What do you think of Obamacare?"

I took all the air out of the room with one sentence: "I fear it will be the ruination of our economy, and we won't recover from it."

After a short silence, the young wife asked me, "Why?"

I looked around and saw I was having an EF Hutton moment. I said to her, "Because every dollar we have to spend on higher premiums, higher deductibles, and higher copayments is a dollar we can't spend on something else- like food, gas, propane, or car repairs. I am not the government; I can't just print myself more money when I need it."

It may not have been the discussion Moochelle had in mind.
