Republicans have already found a way to F*CK up the judicial nominees !!!!!!!!!! YAY!!1!11!!!
Last edited Thu Nov 21, 2013, 04:15 PM - Edit history (1)
Today the Senate Judicial Committee had an Executive Business Meeting schedule to vote 10 nominees out of committee so that they would be sent to the full Senate.
Looks like perhaps the republicans on the committee did not show up so there was no quorum!
The Senate Judiciary Committee held an executive business meeting to consider pending nominations and legislation on November 21, 2013. A quorum was not present, and the Committee was not able to complete action on pending matters. The meeting recessed subject to the call of the Chair.

III. QUORUMS
1. Six Members of the Committee, actually present, shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of discussing business. Eight Members of the Committee, including at least two Members of the minority, shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of transacting business.
Is there some way to force them to attend? No.

You mean like the Democrats in Madison, WI fleeing to the Illinois border to avoid facing Scott Walker? I guess two can play that game.

Exactly my thought.

That's fine and noble. Because......DEMOCRATS!!!
I also think that if no republican votes for the nominee to get out of committee the nominee never goes to the floor for vote. The pederast, Harry Reid played with fire and now he gets burned.
In the mean time another few hundred thousand people lost their health insurance and the train wreck of policy called Obama Care is destroying families.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I'm an asshole and hate that idiot you fools elected. I wouldn't piss down that Marxist asshole's throat if his guts were on fire.

They lit off.
More demands of force.
More demands that the pederast change to rules to fit their agenda.
Let's see how the primitives like it in maybe a year. :-)
To quote that one primitive....

1. fleebagger
Popularized by Michelle Malkin, it refers to a politician that flees their home state to avoid a quorum, and thus stifle legislation from being passed. In the original context, the term referred to Democrats who fled the state of Wisconsin to avoid the passing of a bill that would rescind collective bargaining rights for Wisconsin public sector unions.
"Scores of Fleebagger Democrats are now in hiding in neighboring Illinois, the nation’s sanctuary for political crooks and corruptocrats." -Michelle Malkin, "Fleebaggers" (NRO; 23 Feb 2011)

Proglodytes; Go nuclear!
Reality: The GOP also has nukes.
Proglodytes; Not fair!

Don't forget how the dimrats held up GWB's judicial nominations by demanding a super majority vote to confirm instead of a simple majority.
What goes around, DUmbasses, comes around! :rotf:

Appeals court strikes down ACA contraceptive mandate
A U.S. appeals court in Washington Friday struck down part of the Affordable Care Act, ruling mandated coverage of contraception "trammels" religious freedom.
"The burden on religious exercise does not occur at the point of contraceptive purchase," wrote Judge Janice Rogers Brown, an appointee of former President George W. Bush. "It occurs when a company's owners fill the basket of goods and services that constitute a healthcare plan."

This would seem like the ideal opportunity for "maverick" McLame and his boy "igor" Graham to reach across the isle and get all bipartisan.

Exactly. The "childish" projection in that thread is breathtaking.
they hate this President beyond reason.
Tell me (D)Upe, what is loveable about a thin-skinned, habitual to the point of psychotic, lying Marxist who treats law like it shouldn't apply to him? Is it reasonable to assume a President is going to follow the law?
Or, just when it suits you?

Way to go Republicans! who would've thought they had it in them?

Personally I think Harry Reid knew this. Say what you want about the asshole... but he ain't stupid. I really think it was more of sop to the dem base to get their base out in the next election.
Then again I could be wrong.
Still think he knows what he is doing. I mean look at it this way... he has got to know his side is gonna get nailed in the next election. Got to. Gotta fire up the base somehow.
Just my 2 cents. A lot will happen between now and next November. I just hope the GOP can gets some conservative candidates that don't say stupid shit. Best thing any GOP candidate can say about abortion, and they will be asked, is this:
"Our house is on fire. When your house is on fire, you do not worry about social issues. That is for another day. Right now, we have to put the fire out. Next question?"
-

I couldn't agree more. We really need to get this country back on a sane financial and constitutional footing.
I just noticed today, that the debt clock is at 17.8 trillion. We won't even make it to the end of the year when it rolls over to 18. Seems like during the last fight over the shutdown it had just reached 17, and that was only a few weeks ago.

It's still Bush's fault!

You lost me on the analogy, Perky. Didn't make any sense.

I suspect that if you were to ask the libs why it was wrong for republicans to do this but ok for the dems the answer would be "because they're republicans"

Well let me explain it this way Skul... your 13 yr old daughter is knocked up. What to do? Then while discussing it with all parties involved, your house catches on fire. Do you sit there and still discuss what to do about the knocked up daughter or do you get out everone out of the house and worry about the daughter's situation another day?
My 2 cents is this country has got such serious fiscal problems that social issues have to take a back burner. We can worry about abortion, the poor, etc, later. Right now we have to get our national house in order before the country collapses.

Reposted from here (http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,81074.msg993831/highlight,obamacare.html#msg993831), because I think it bears repeating.
So now we need to not only abandon societal issues but the unborn as well? That projects embarrassment and an unspoken concession that the left is right and always will be about "choice". No, I'm sorry, that will not happen. I will not stand before the Almighty and explain why it is I felt it more convenient to abandon His word in our society and willingly walked away from His most innocent of creatures. I won't do that and neither should anyone else.
You have to fix the societal problem before anything else will work. I think the one thing that has frustrated the Hell out of me for the past 15 years or so have been the "fiscal conservatives" that seem to have held sway over what conservatives should put out as a message. They told us that we can't win on social issues, concentrate on money instead, and abandon any type of societal morality to the left. Well, that's been done, and it got us nowhere.
Anyone who tries to tell me that society and finance are separate issues is a damned fool and one not worth listening to. By abandoning society to the left, we have allowed societal rot which will now affect us all, left and right, in the financial arena. You cannot fix money when morality is not a factor - one does affect the other in usually disproportionate manners.
The answer is right in front of us, we just need to have the courage to lay hold of the wheel and push.
