Title: DU reports shots fired, people running in the street, number of dead unknown
Post by: SSG Snuggle Bunny on November 21, 2013, 10:21:52 AM
No word on the continuity of government operations; Pelosi is only on her third martini of the morning.

The President has been relocated to an undisclosed golf course and/or fund raising event.

Biden is rumored to be developing contingencies for establishing a possible government-in-exile at the local Chuck E. Cheese.

My GOD, the GOP is getting bold in their assault on Obama and Obmacare...

G.O.P. Maps Out Waves of Attacks Over Health Law

Quote
WASHINGTON — The memo distributed to House Republicans this week was concise and blunt, listing talking points and marching orders: “Because of Obamacare, I Lost My Insurance.” “Obamacare Increases Health Care Costs.” “The Exchanges May Not Be Secure, Putting Personal Information at Risk.” “Continue Collecting Constituent Stories.”

The document, the product of a series of closed-door strategy sessions that began in mid-October, is part of an increasingly organized Republican attack on the Affordable Care Act, President Obama’s signature legislative initiative. Republican strategists say that over the next several months, they intend to keep Democrats on their heels through a multilayered, sequenced assault.

The idea is to gather stories of people affected by the health care law — through social media, letters from constituents, or meetings during visits back home — and use them to open a line of attack, keep it going until it enters the public discourse and forces a response, then quickly pivot to the next topic.

Waves of attacks? They literally are waging war on Obama!

3. Isn't sabotaging US law a crime?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=4063858

“calculated sabotage by Republicans at every step” ... unprecedented efforts to undermine a federal law...include blocking necessary resources needed for implementation, public misinformation campaigns, discouraging public-private partnerships to denying blocking Medicaid expansion, blocking CMS nominees, refusing to create marketplaces, and prohibiting “Navigators” from doing their jobs.

and of course this ....

Quote
The quotes from House GOP leaders are rather remarkable. Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said health care reform may lead to identity theft; Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) falsely claimed “premiums are going right through the roof”; Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) warned that consumers who visit healthcare.gov may become victims of fraud; and Caucus Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) said vulnerable constituents may be put “on the casualty list.”

And then they claim that government doesn't work.

The death panel has met and decided Obamacare should die....it's terminal anyway, so give it some painkillers and let it die.

Uh, question.

Where are the lies, the unfounded fears, in this?

Not nearly as much as fraud by a sitting president (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1001), DUmbass.

Oh, Scuba DUmmie, the HOR has the authority to fund or defund any damn thing it pleases.  You should brush up on your Constitution before your ignorance hits the keyboard.

Ok Dummies, at one time slavery was the law of the land, were the republicans that opposed that law of the land traitors? Should the republican president Abraham Lincoln been hauled off to jail for opposing that law?

Another example is when we repealed the probation amendment was congress and the state legislatures committing treason when they voted for repeal?

And an example that hits home for all you dummies, weed is illegal so is it treason when you fight to change it? Are the states that allow you potheads to light up undermining the law of the land?

Same could apply for illegal aliens, you disregard the law of the land for them too.

There's a lot of moaning and groaning on the thread, but JDPriestly has a solution:

51. Instead of moaning and groaning, let's nominate a presidential candidate for 2016 who will

fight for liberal, Democratic (and democratic) values, someone who will grab the attention of the public. How about an Elizabeth Warren or a Bernie Sanders or an Alan Grayson or some combination of the the three? How about Elizabeth Warren and Alan Grayson or Bernie Sanders and Alan Grayson? How about everyone working together to defeat the Blue Dog machine candidates like Hillary? (She would no more offend Walmart or the news media than walk across the country.)

27. They will *not* win

(at least not in the long run) for 2 reasons:

1. Truth is on our side, and truth can only be delayed, not defeated.

Democrats have been exposed as habitual liars.  They cannot be trusted.  You'd be able to see this, if you'd get out of the bubble.

35. I often cheer myself up by thinking how much they'll love seeing Van Jones in the Oval Office.

Maybe it's a mean aspect of my personality or character, but when a person or entity causes as much grief and destruction as the GOP has, I purely delight in any hint of its karmic misery on the way.
:mental:

The thread starts out with gnashing of teeth.  Then, it devolves into an incredibly delusional mess, meant to comfort each other, I guess.  "Healthcare costs aren't going up!!!"  It's fascinating to watch.

You are thinking real insurance. The DUchebags mean medicaid. it is true that hundreds of thousands have signed up for the expanded medicaid. not many through the ridiculous failure of any of the exchanges, particularly Obama's huge fiasco. What they have done is use other programs these people are on, food stamps, WIC, etc to just sign them up. So now those people have medicaid but no doctors and few hospitals will accept medicaid. So basically, they are just as screwed as before and the states spend even more to bust their budgets.

I don't remember them being worried about a law being sabotaged when Obama defunded the construction of the border fence. Or when he announced he wouldn't enforce DOMA anymore.

Well, shouldn't you and your whole party be in jail considering you did things much worse than holding a meeting during the Bush Administration?

Medicaid is not health insurance....it's another government freebie.
