Title: A new way to encrypt....
Post by: marv on November 20, 2013, 09:39:39 PM
Just playing around with an old hobby of mine, and it hit me....

Can anybody decipher it; or even figure out how it could be deciphered? It can be scanned, but OCR is useless. Character recognition/repetition (patterning) won't work. It's a real text message. Run the original text through an M209 or Enigma first, and you'll have a really secure message, even for email.

Enciphering is easy. Now I need to work on an easier, faster method for deciphering.

Take that NSA! (http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/rude/1/flipping-the-bird.gif)

$100 to anybody who figures it out. Anybody up for this?

It says you should use photobucket and not host the image on your family website.

I stopped using photobucket long ago 'cause it was too slow and required javascript.

My own 20MB web site at Socket.net (http://members.socket.net/~mcruzan/ $20/mo) because I can manage it as I damn well please. I use CoffeeCup Free FTP (http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/), V4.5 to do the work. I use the freebie version 'cause I'm cheep! But for a few bucks you get the one with "enhancements".

BTW, I've updated my home page. Check it out and give me some feedback.

I enjoyed reading your father's diary entries of his WWI experience. Bugler, indeed!  :II:

Y'all way off. Actually, it's clear text in a different font converted to a graphic and rotated to vertical. Neither cuneiform or hieroglyphics could be deciphered without a "rosetta stone" for comparison with a known text.

Deciphered: nowisthetimeforallgoodmentocometotheaidoftheircountry

The font is Sinescript. It's a TrueType, but you have to download and install it to use it.

....but I like the tangled Christmas tree lights comparison! Now I gotta hunt up some Ovaltine the next time I grocery shop.

Not a fan of Ovaltine.  It has a hint of malt in it.

I prefer Hersheys.

Question is, how does one convert the graphic back to a wordpad, word or other text document?
