Deeds critically wounded; son dead from gunshot
Source: Richmond Times Dispatch

Sen. Creigh Deeds, D-Bath, is in critical condition after being stabbed in his home and his son Gus is dead from a gunshot wound, law enforcement sources told the Richmond Times-Dispatch this morning.

Deeds is being treated at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Authorities said they are trying to determine the sequence of events at the Deeds home in Bath County early today.

Further details were not immediately available.

Relatively small campfire right now but a few things made me chuckle.

4. How about we wait for facts to come in...

... instead of making wild speculations.
Like that is going to happen.

The Deeds family is in my thoughts and prayers in their hour of need. Politics aside, this is still a tragedy in their family.

Son was obviously some sort of Tepublican. Guns don't kill Teapublicans do.

More proof that no democrat should be allowed near a gun.

It's an easy fix, we don't need to ban guns for everyone, just ban democrats from owning them.
Saint Skittles would be alive today if the democrat George Zimmerman was denied a gun. Meanwhile Ted Nugent, not a democrat, hasn't killed anyone.

It's true that nearly every violent murder is committed by a democrat.
On the brighter side, nearly every murder victim is also a democrat.

It is, and will be for quite some time, a hard time for the family.  It is a shame that of all the responses in the DU thread, that is not mentioned.

They do, however, get in a bit of their gun control rhetoric:

25. So sad. And another gun suicide.
He'd still be alive if there was no gun in the house
Because, according to DUmmies, there is no other possible way for one to take one's own life.
