Is this part of the reason for PPACA low enrollment?
http://michaelmoore.com/words/mike-friends-blog/health-economists-ignore-working-class-realities
Enrolling in a new health plan on the ACA/Obamacare exchange requires payment of the premium at the time of enrollment. Many working class families live paycheck to paycheck or they are in the hole financially. They make too much to qualify for Medicaid but too little to make an additional insurance payment right now that can be put off until the last moment. To be even clearer: working class people like me do not have hundreds of extra dollars in the bank to make that new premium payment in advance of when it will take effect.
For many, like me, we are already paying a huge medical insurance premium (mine is $875 every month for individual COBRA/Aetna policy), and we’re in the hole trying to make that happen.
Hence, I will look at what’s available to me on the exchange – Connect for Health Colorado – but I will wait to actually enroll until I have the money to pay the premium. Will that be tomorrow or December 1 or right before Christmas on December 15th (the last day to pay for the January 1st coverage)? I do not know. I just got the Medicaid denial this week after waiting 36 days for that denial that stopped me from going forward to shop for coverage. So, that’s a working class reality.
And while I am at it on this working class health economics lesson: Who was the brain-child who decided the first payments would be due right in the middle of the holiday season? Are parents to short the holiday spending this year and just tell the kids, “Sorry, I have to pay two insurance premiums this month,†or are they to pawn things or borrow from family to stay afloat? Come on. Please, those of you in charge in this country. Please at least actually ask someone in the working class to comment on your efforts before assuming whatever you work up will actually be “affordable.â€
I suspect many, many Americans like me will wait until the last moment to enroll for new coverage not because we want to do that but because we financially have no choice.

That would be your Nancy Pelosi you stupid fool. You got to read it to see what's in it. Remember that, foolish dummie?
Personally I think the GOP played their hand just right. They held out in the debt talks up to the last second and then cried uncle. The MSM cried foul and blamed the GOP. Now come next year the GOP can run ads saying "Hey we tried!!!! Ya all didn't like it so we cried uncle. We tried. Now ya all see what we was trying to do!!!"
I don't know if it will be enough to swing the senate... it should be an interesting election though. One thing I can say... Rockysmeller's seat will turn GOP. Shelly Capito, the GOP candidate is quite popular, Manchin is distancing himself from obozo, and obozo's EPA has royally pissed off the long time dems in the coal fields.
Nothing would elate me more than if the GOP got a super majority in both the house and the senate, repeal obozo care, get it vetoed and override the veto. Obozo would go nuts. So would Eugene Robinson, who wrote an article saying that 1.3 growth is really good.
Dummies heads be asploding all over the place.

Maybe many, many follow current events and don't want to bother with enrolling since they figure that BarryCare is going away sooner or later--Click here for the full list of Democrat defectors::
In a rebuke to President Barack Obama and his threat of veto, 39 House Democrats earlier Friday voted for GOP-sponsored legislation that would allow insurers to keep offering health plans even if they do not meet certain minimum requirements of the Affordable Care Act.

I got news..... there is not going to be the enrollment the messiah envisions. Nobody can afford his idea of healthcare! They're not goin' to sign up at all! Hell, the only way they can collect is if you are owed a refund. At least that is my understanding. O'Bummer is ****ed! So is is idea of socialized medicine.
-
Awww... like we have all said here. These idiots had no idea they would actually have to pay for something. The ACA bill is just ripe enough to screw shit up for the insurers and the insurance companies. I hope the damage can be undone, but I already know that no matter what the GOP tries to do the Dems will still stand their ground even with the roof caving in.

Sadly that is a feature, not a bug of Obamacare. It's merely just a huge nudge towards single payer. That way grandma will get a pain pill instead of a pacemaker, and we can use that money to do sex change operations and other much more important things.

It may be. Gallup is showing increased discomfort with the idea of government (single payer) healthcare to something like 58%, including an increase among (D)estruct-O-Crats. To hear the (D)ipshits tell it, everybody wants it except about 50 Republicans who live in Alabama and Texas.
Of course, only time will tell, but I am warming to Krauthmamer's thesis that the Obinga Junta may just do what we haven't been able to and seriously damage the Progressives for a long time.

And hopefully there are enough smart people to realize that if the government can't even get this launched correctly and get a website off the ground then why would we want them completely running the whole thing as in single payer?

There weren't enough smart people to send Obama packing last November, so I'm not counting on them being smart enough to not want single payer.

I feel the same way, but hopefully all this crap pushes the people who were on the fence back over to our side.

We have almost an entire year until midterms lots of dirty tricks can be pulled by the dems during this time.

While this is true, the Law of Unintended Consequences seems to be making a comeback, and I think that this will come into play more than a few times over the next year. The tsunami is building, and this time it'll make the 2010 midterms look as if someone farted in a bathtub.
