HHS reports 106,000 have picked health plans through ObamaCare exchanges
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/11/13/hhs-reports-106000-have-picked-health-plans-through-obamacare/
The Department of Health and Human Services reported Wednesday that more than 100,000 people have selected a health care plan through the ObamaCare exchanges -- a number that, likely due to widespread website failures, falls far short of the administration's goal.
The administration had originally hoped to sign up a half-million people in the first month of open enrollment. Now more than six weeks into the troubled launch of HealthCare.gov and other state-based exchanges, HHS announced Wednesday that 106,185 people had selected a plan as of Nov. 2. And just 27,000 did so via the federal exchanges.
Wow. This number is simply amazingly bad. The Administration said that in the first month they expected to get at least 500,000 people to sign up, they got less than 20% of that number.
Obamacare is also responsible for 5 million cancellation notices, so far, which means that the number of people who have been kicked off of their healthcare dwarfs the number of people who have actually signed up.
Keep in mind to that the administrations own stated requirement for solvency is 7 million people with 2.5 million of them being young. In order to reach that number they have to sign up 46,000 people PER DAY from now until the end of the open enrollment period.
So......We all knew it would be bad but did anyone think it would be this bad? 2014 is going to make 2010 look like a Democratic landslide.

The majority of people signed up through their state-run exchanges.

If owebuma said it, you con't trust it.

Almost 400,000 in October have signed up for Medicaid (welfare),it cannot survive that way.

Note the terminology: selected, not purchased. They haven't released how many have actually purchased a plan. This is like putting things in your online shopping basket but not checking out.

The scary thing is they are mostly in the 25 states that bought in to the medicade expansion. I'm sure glad I'm in TX.

Those less-than-27,000 were in 36 states. The other almost-80,000 were in the other 14 states that set up their own exchanges. I heard last night that California has both the most people that signed up, 30,000 perhaps, and the most that got cancelled, a million.

This^
People signing up for Medicaid do not help support the private insurance risk pool, so that's bad news.
Also, there was no demographic info released that I can tell, what are the age groups signing up?
If you kids don't sign up...well that's bad news.

^^ You mean that "brosurance and hosurance" campaign isn't working? That crap is cringe-worthy.

You notice that Obamacare seems to be very concerned about the overly sexual active crowd.....does Bill Clinton have an STD?.....is he spreading it around?....does Hillary know and when will she know?...what difference does it make now?

Wasn't designed to.

Remember this, the DUmbocraps are running with this and not the cost of the "affordable" care.

Young adults up to age 26 won't be signing up, they get to stay on their parents insurance. Also, it's more logical that sick people with preexisting conditions will be the first ones to sign up.
Another thing I read, but haven't heard on the news is; that if you sign up on the state exchanges, you won't get the federal exemption. Does anyone know if that is correct?

Hidden somewhere in 27,000 pages of rules and regulations is a line stating "U. R. Screwed".

Exactly, I said in my recent post where I had singed up that be sure and watch what the admin says when they release these numbers. Like me I went through the process and signed up, even got my packet from Blue Cross. I will not be paying for it. I am sure there are a lot of people that did the same thing.

Federal Exemption from what?

Federal Exemption from what?
I think she meant supplements. The state exchanges are supposed to plug you into the Federal system and apply the voter bribes er-supplements. If you are desperate for insurance, you can buy big brother approved policies direct from the insurance companies but they can't plug in the supplements.

Right, and people that have their current policy cancelled and buy the new more costly one from their present insurer won't get the subsidies either.
-
Where do libs think the "subsidies" come from ?
-
Good news. It'll only take 236 years to get all 300m people enrolled. :loser:

Exactly.
They are trying to count their chickens before the eggs hatch. What would be beyond hilarious is if next month they come out and say the total number enrolled is less than this 100k number, meaning people didnt sign up. Just watching Carney try to spin that one would be worth all the gold in the world
