Oh my.

Apparently getting money out of a primitive's harder than trying to pry open a clam with a wet paper towel.

**Help A DUer: World Kindness Day 2013 Edition** (please K&R -- that's an act of kindness!!!)

PLEASE SEE MY POST ABOUT WORLD KINDNESS DAY IN THE GOOD NEWS GROUP.

I'm going to take my own advice and be kind to myself rather than beat myself up for not being able to follow up with everyone who has Wishlist posts to get updates, and for how long it has taken to create this OP. The site has undergone an upgrade and I'm finding glitches each day that I haven't yet had time to address. Also, no new fundraising posts will be displayed until I get help and implement a new protocol. I apologize for any convenience that causes.

I've gotten the information I need in order to transfer a few Wishlist posts into the new Fundraising Section at Wishadoo, and I'm including those links below. For anyone I'm neglecting, please send me a message w/update. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT EACH DUer WHO HAS BRAVELY ASKED FOR ASSISTANCE CAN CREATE HER/HIS OWN OP in GD (or your favorite forums/groups) AS WELL for more visibility and to give more background information, updates, interact with other DUers about your situation, etc.

Speaking of kindness, in case you didn't see the update re: sunwyn, please know you're making a huge difference in others' lives, not only with financial support and resource suggestions, but by letting people know they're not alone in this world. The simple act of acknowledging another person, even if they are in the throes of struggle and grief, may be the kindness thing each of us can do each day. You made a huge difference in sunwyn's life. Hers is merely one success story over the years due to the kindness of the DU Community.

EDIT TO ADD: A DUer who mainly frequents The Lounge bravely posted there about her situation recently, attached a link to the fundraiser at Wishadoo, and had her rather dire need taken care of literally overnight. I couldn't believe I awoke to a success without me doing a thing. That's the way it's supposed to work! So, thanks to all the Lounge peeps for helping out recently.

BELOW ARE LINKS TO FUNDRAISING POSTS CREATED AT WISHADOO BY DUers, in no particular order. Click link for background information to the request.

TREE-HUGGER: http://www.wishadoo.org/fundraising/6/help-with-rent-bills-car/

ATOMIC KITTEN: http://www.wishadoo.org/fundraising/8/need-help-to-cover-rent/

Fat Che's Little Brother http://www.wishadoo.org/fundraising/7/need-help-to-get-gas-reconnected/

STEWERT http://www.wishadoo.org/fundraising/4/help-paying-my-bills-for-november/

(Note: Stewert has created posts on DU over the last couple of months, updating others about his situation and asking for assistance; he's waiting for disability to kick in and a few other potential avenues for assistance but, last I heard, is still having trouble. DU helped with October's bills but his situation hasn't changed as yet. I feel compelled to include this info along with the above link to his current, active fundraiser since his is not a new request.)

When you think one act of kindness can’t possibly make a difference in a world that sometimes seems immersed

* * * * *

PLEASE ALSO:

* Recommend this thread and keep it kicked for visibility.

* Please scan the Wishlist in general on a regular basis; some posts are simply asking for information. It's not always about money.

* ACKNOWLEDGE these courageous people who have made themselves vulnerable by asking for help. Please offer whatever support you can (information, advice, well wishes, financial or other support, etc.)

* Share Wishadoo! with others (online and in person)...your friends, loved ones, neighbors, co-workers, other networks and organizations; after all, the more who gather...

THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE IN NEED, HERE AT DU ALONE, THAN PEOPLE WITH RESOURCES TO HELP.* PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO EXPAND THE WISHADOO COMMUNITY.

*needs to put the CalPig primitive on the mailing list.

Anyway.

Of the four appeals listed, thus far the first, second, and third are still at not one damned dime, and the fourth is still struck at $100, which he's been for a very long time now.

I have a wish. I wish that lazy greedy people would stop using the government to steal the money that I earned. I don't want anything from anybody other than to be left alone.

I know my wish is far more noble and moral than any wish a DUchebag would wish for.

Exit question; What would a DUchebag think is worse?

A) A person that is qualified to take government money (OPM) and not take it.
B) A person that is not qualified to take government money (OPM) but does.

Rhetorical of course.

I'm afraid that supporting herself, in the wake of getting wallduded up in Rindge, plus decades of supporting her deadbeat alcoholic son have put a serious drain on the Pitt family trust.

Considering barely any money at all has been earned by the Pitt family since Oswald capped JFK, it's not hard to draw that conclusion.

Now she's forced the drunken William to leave the money Pitt of Boston, and move up into the boondocks. He's still among Massholes, but it's a lot cheaper up there in flannel land.

DUmmy Jane has to support her worthless son, his tattooed bride, and a new generation of deadbeat Pitts they'll likely spawn, so she's not likely to be a major contributor to WackaDU.

There goes the nest egg.

Whoa. Amber's nest egg was one hundred dollars, a benjamin, ten sawbucks, twenty fins, cash money.

She had that full sum with her on the bus to Tucson in September.

One hundred dollars is a considerable sum of money, and she's only been living on it for two months.

A frugal democrat like Amber can go a long way on one hundred dollars.

It's odd how no primitive pays attention to wishing for a dupe on Skins's island; it isn't until such shows up here in the DUmpster, that the primitives start raking in the big bucks.

As of this morning:

the tree-hugger's got $225 from three primitives; the goal's $2000.

the atomic kitten's got $25 from one primitive; the goal's $1500.

Fat Che's little brother's got $70 from two primitives; the goal's $900.

ol' stew's now got $125 from two primitives; the goal's $1000.

Could it be that the Primitives are sending all their pocket chance to help the Filipino's ? Now there's people that need help.    All this crying out for help from these DU's and I am sure there are millions that would sell their soul to change places with them.

Check out the pictures of these poor people that were dirt poor before the storm.  Give me a break to exchange these whiners for some of the really poor would open their eyes.  Betcha the poor Filipino's that come here are within 2 years starting up their own business and or working 2 jobs.

Human exchange, take the poorest in America that bitch about life and force them to exchange places with the dirt poor with no food stamps, no Gov. housing or SSI.

Should be interesting how both groups do with their new lives.    Will the Americans get going and use ingenuity to make their life better, will the dirt poor use their ingenuity to get ahead much faster then the Americans.

I know they're in different towns, Denville and Vineland, but Doug and Fat Che's little queer brother can't be that far apart.

There are many counties in more civilized states that are bigger than New Jersey.

The two of them could save a lot if they shared a room and formed a little panhandling team.

They could even put a combined appeal on WackaDU.

the atomic kitten's still at $1500 from 32 donors, but probably that request has been "closed," since its goal was met

Fat Che's little brother still faces a cold, cold winter, as it's still at $90 from 3 donors, no change, and the goal's $900

Ol' stew's still looking hunger in the face, as it's still at $135 from 3 donors, no change, the goal's $1000, and his time's about up.

How do you tell when each panhandling attempt expires?

Anyway, temps in the low 20s coming up in New Jersey the next few days.

Pab and his "husband" will have to cuddle up for warmth, I guess.

How many times can a pipe freeze and thaw before it splits?

Without the bad reviews from a bunch of pricks, his Amazon book sales would be through the roof, and the house would be warm and toasty.

Strange that the "husband" doesn't contribute to the household expense. Probably spends all his time down at the interstate rest stop.

Hey, where did you get that ?

I actually got it from an Indian (dot, not feather) girl I worked with at Walmart.

As a side note, her last name was Patel, and I asked her how common the surname "Patel" was in India.  She said it's fairly common, like "Smith" is here.

I replied, "So, that means there's like 500 million of them."

"Yeah, sounds about right."   :rotf:
