Not really sure what austerity he's having to deal with. Maybe mom forgot to pick up some pizza rolls at the grocery and he's hungry?

4. They can leave

their shit stays here.
Don't think it'll all fit in your basement. Besides, don't the rich survive on consuming the tears of the poor or some such thing? They couldn't leave..

11. Big. Whoop.

90% top marginal rate sounds about right. Given that we need to pay off war debt and all.
Ladies and gentlemen... we may be at a historic first here. A primitive is actually discussing paying for something!

16. That would be a good start...

... and we also need to change the financial rules so the very wealthy can't spin their money around in schemes that do not create good jobs or benefit society in any way.

Yea, those Roth IRA's and stocks are quite the malicious trick, aren't they?

As per usual, they are full of K&R's and +1,000,000's.  Only one DUmmie speaks any sense:

15. Name any Congressman or Senator who has advocated for this. Just one.

Most of them are either already very wealthy (Nancy Pelosi and Alan Grayson, for example) or are anticipating big fat salaries when they become lobbyists or bankers after leaving Congress. Do you really think that these people would vote to impoverish themselves to that degree?

An illustration of the fundamental difference between Democrats and Republicans.  They waste their energy envying those who have more, while we focus on maximizing our own income potential.

The first step in fixing our country's debt problem is to stop making more debt, not tapping into a limited source of new income.  Those with the skills to create income for themselves won't have a problem leaving if it gets too bad here.

Do these retards know "the rich" is a term that means absolutely NOTHING?  ANYONE can be "rich" if you set the bar low enough.

But the top 10 percent of incomes (over $110K AGI) pay over 70 percent of the taxes, DUmmies.  Think about that.  $110K.  Ain't that much, is it?

27. That's the problem.

Not just the votes, but the idea that higher taxes will "impoverish" them. Good job buying into that.
There's no truth here!  Look away!  It is all a mythical concept posted just to distract and confuse you!!!! Alert!

As if the Government hasn't but all killed the incentive to work in this country lets take all the money from the people who actually are still trying to make something of their lives and building jobs for others.

Leftists know only destruction. Those of us on the right know creation. One is easy and a lazy way of life. The other is hard and difficult.

To the DUmmy who wants to banish the rich but keep all their stuff, Hitler did that to the Jews, he would let them leave, but only after he made them pay taxes for the next year, and left a majority of their assets

Ummmm, DUmbass, I know cogent thought really isn't your forte, so I'll try to be as simple with this as possible:  Throwing tax payer money that has not yet been made (ie on credit) into the air as a "stimulus" measure is as far from "austerity" as one can possibly get.

Also, if you come for the gold, don't be surprised when you get the lead...

Let's return to the tax rates of the 1950's.  Let everyone have some skin in the game.

7. We've been seeing a lot of this lately.

Recent changes in our tax and banking laws have made life very difficult for American expats. Most of them are being forced to make a choice between returning to America or just giving up citizenship. For those who have lived overseas for many years, it's often easier to just sever American citizenship.

My brother in law has lived in Vancouver for 15 years, holds Canadian citizenship, and has already started the process of giving up his U.S. citizenship. My wifes father, who bought property in New Zealand over 30 years ago and recently started the process of relocating there full time, is planning on doing the same.

No sense getting nailed with U.S. income taxes when you live in another country, and you never intend to live in the U.S. again or use U.S. services.

20. I'm sure that is 99% of the reason

Those new tax laws follow you around the globe. We're the only country in the world that forces you to pay taxes to when you live abroad. It's disgusting really. Only the first 100k or or so is exempt.

9. not my problem

to quote Jefferson "But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." .....Her choice has nothing to do with me, my family, my tax bill, and the United States Of America..." Go with your God Tina" I got a LOTTA more relevant to me/mine to deal/think/weep issues over then Tina Turners' choice....have a wonderful happy life tina, thanks for the music.

But the evil rich steal from you because they're rich!

Good for her if she doesn't plan to live here anymore.

Remember all those Proglodytes criticizing Mitt Romney for not funding the war machine.

So Dummie, how do you feel about Al Gore and his partner David Blood, a big campaign bundler for Obama, being 27% invested in Healthcare?  Al Gore is making a killing on the laws that you liberals want passed.
